It doesn't seem to be quite like that for 2.10, at least. He did the inserting on the bus home screen and lost signal, and on FX 1-4 there is not an insert button on the upper right above the faders like there is on FX 5-8.
You actually have to turn the assign knob counterclockwise ahead of bus 1 and it says "insert" there and you then select it just like selecting a bus source. It doesn't correlate to the bus in that screen.
Then you go to the home screen of the bus in question (in this case Bus 1) and dial in FX1L Dual TruGraphic (or whatever its name is) in the insert menu. Then it seems to work, I think. Bus 2 would be FX1R, etc. for those first 4 FX slots.
Not what he or I were expecting, but it's been a long time since either of us has needed more than 8 EQ's and maybe we forgot how to get there, unless some recent firmware revision has changed it.
