Re: Send on faders on custom keys
@All: Before I go to work, I would like to know your opinion on different/upcoming X32 designs. I think, Behringer stated already that there is a kind of "X16" to come. But the only thing, that seems to be sure, is that this smaller console will be rackable (19U, 19"). What would you like to see on such a mixer in smaller footprint?
I think, when the S-16 roll in in larger numbers, Behringer could build the "X16" without local in- and outputs. Just like the A&H GLD. This should also result in a price drop.
What do you thing about this?
As a SAC user, I'm not afraid to mix smaller bands just with a mouse and a eight channel fader pack (like BCF2000). So I thought: "Why not build a X16/X32 CORE version? Just a 2U (2HE") box with almost no hardware buttons, faders at all!" Just a blackbox, that can be controlled just with the Xremote and/or the iPad app. Maybe it would be nice, to hook up one BCF2000 Faderpack to your remote computer and lock the BCF faders virtualy to the eight DCA faders. This way, you have a good control about levels and you could set a very small Foh for corporate events. This could be interessting for a permanet installation also. Best thing: It should have a attractive price tag;-)
What do you think?
BTW: This "CORE" version would also be a nice and cheap "emergency solution", if your X32 ever fails. Just save your scene after soundcheck on USB and if the X32 should every fail, you load the scene into the Core version, hook up your S-16 to the CORE version, start Xremote on your laptop and you will be running into almost no time.
