With this setup, you don't lose any FX or other features on the FoH console. On the Monitor desk indeed you will need to provide two analog outputs as Mains return form the Foh console. Talkback and a mono 2Track could be send over AuxInputs 3&4. So you can speak directly to all monitors/InEars on stage and in addition you could at least send a mono signal ("concert intro" for example) in the monitors too.
