[QUOTE="Kieran Paton, post: 64619, member: 2319"] re: X32 Discussion Really appreciate being able to network with other people here who are using or expecting their X32. I've got a few feature comments/requests... So we're using one X32 for FOH in a Church Auditorium which has a distributed speaker system. My plan was to use the 6 matrices for Main L, Main R, Side Fills, Balcony Sides, Balcony Platform, and Subwoofers. The reason for wanting to use the matrices is to allow for different EQ settings for the different boxes. Our previous setup used a BSS Audio Minidrive (but it's locked down and the password has been lost) so I was hoping to use the X32 to do speaker management instead. Now the issue that I have faced is that the Main LR master channel cannot send the individual (L or R) component to the matrix - only a mono mixdown - which kind of defeats the purpose of LR if you can't keep it in stereo when using matrices for speaker eq. Am I being silly? For the time being I have additionally sent every channel to the mono bus and use the mono bus to feed the matrices so that I can set an EQ on the LR channels for sending to our main stereo pair which works - however it's quite annoying that the mono channel fader gets muted at desk startup considering it's linked to the LR channel anyway. That means the volunteer needs to remember to bring up the mono channel (which isn't obvious unless you go through the layers) whenever they turn the desk on otherwise only the main L & R speakers will be active. Hope that made sense? Does anybody have a better suggestion? -------------- Now the skill level of our team of volunteers varies, it would be real nice to lock down the routing settings and the matrices so that they can't go in and change those settings by accident but it seems that it's only possible to lock the entire console - which isn't ideal given what we're trying to achieve! ------------- Other than that main issue, very impressed with the desk considering the cost.
