Well, I was prepared for a medicore sound, but when I raised the Kick drum fader during soundcheck it got the giggles.</p><p>This was the worst PA system I ever heard and I heared a few the last 20 years! The fun part was, that the Peavey acutally was the best part of it<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":-)" title="Smile :-)" data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":-)" /> I couldn't help it, I instantly had to laugh. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":-)" title="Smile :-)" data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":-)" /> </p><p>The facial expression of the bystanders showed me, that they were thinking "WTF!?...what's up with the soundguy?"</p><p></p><p>I grabbed the open wireless mic and went to the amprack. The Subs are active and the Peaveys were driven with an acienct electro voice amp. Ok, there was my problem...the complete system ran without any crossover! No lowcut for the peaveys, no high cut for the Meyer subs! I belief, the Meyer sub have a build in crossover between the 18" and 15" speaker and likely a high cut somewhere around 160-200Hz, but speaking through the mic, you could clearly hear the lows of voice comming through the 15" speakers of the subs. With each bass drum the Lo-Limiter of the subs waved the white flag. The only "quick fix" was to to create a deep cut with the the build in parametric EQ in the X32 mastersection (between 80Hz and 160Hz). So no fat snare, no thick guitars this night - quite annying for a band the plays from fxxcking German Schlager music to songs from VolBeat or Metallica. In addition I compressed the hell out of everything and I replaced the 31GEQ in the mains with the precision limiter from the effects section. Now I got at least levels around 95 dBa for the 200 party people and my X32 was just about eight meters away from the PA system...</p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.directupload.net" target="_blank"><img src="http://s14.directupload.net/images/120924/kmht32zg.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " data-size="" style="" /></a></p><p></p><p>Now to the good things. I'm with this band for almost 20 years now, since I use the X32, the guitar player uses the P-16M monitorsystem. At this gig, the drummer used a P-16M for the first time. Without further instructions he was able to set up a nice sound for himself.
