[QUOTE="Chris Wadden, post: 66701, member: 2583"] re: X32 Discussion Hello everybody!! This is my first post here. I have been working on reading every last post in this thread as it has been an awesome source of opinion and knowledge about this ground breaking product. I purchased my X32 on 08/18. So it was one of the first ones to arrive at a local music store I work at. We have sold 8 more so far, (mostly on my recommendation of the product) and just can't keep them in stock. It seems no one can. I was never fully drawn to the SL boards. Not sure what it is, they sound good but the workflow is horrible IMO. The X32 is great, I really connect with the format and workflow. I don't hear this complaint much, and I don't want to get into brand-bashing at length, BUT, on the SL boards if you want to have a separate control for the your FX in the mains VS. mons, you have to assign them to a subgroup. Otherwise manipulating the FX level knob will control both mains and mons. Totally lame. (And I know you could go in an lower/raise the FX send to the mon, but that's ridiculous to have play balancing act like that.) So far I have absolutely loved the X32. I have taken it on six gigs, and they all sounded great. I have tried the multitrack recording, as well as the Ipad app and it all worked flawlessly. I'm very impressed with the recording sound so far, they have great dynamic range and a very musical tone to them. I was able to go FiWi direct with my partners Macbook Pro into Logic. I am a die-hard Pro Tools user. I refuse to use anything else. I am using an 2007 Macbook Pro running 10.5 Leopard, with Pro Tools 8 LE, running a 003 rack and a Behringer ADA8000. The only thing that stinks is I cannot use the X32 direct to LE because of it's hardware restrictions. As soon as this Mac dies, and I buy a new one with Pro Tools 10 that issue will be solved. Until then I have done 16 track recording by running the Channels 1-6 direct out of Aux 1-6, then using XLR outs as direct outs for Channels 7-16. I leave my XLR out 1-6 to connect to a snake and run Mains L,R, and Mons 1-4. It works like a charm but is a lot to plug in, haha. :)~:-)~ Ok so now onto a few minor issues I do have with the board. First off, as others have mentioned, the headphone volume is super low. I've considered getting a small headphone amp to use with it but find that ridiculous.
