Re: X32 discussion Hi i'm new here. Excellent thread- keep on sharing info :) I'ld like to share my experience with the x32 after running 3 gigs with it- IT'S FREAKING AWESOME! Out of the box- idiot proof- easy to understand and operate. I also multitracked every show to a pc laptop running Studio One 32/32 via usb. Why? bescause i can :) I love the 'virtual soundcheck' concept. Ran flawlessly- mic pre's sound warm and clear- no need to have a 'post processing' tap point in my opinion. I always record 'flat'. just preamp. It's kinda amazing how much power and versatility they (B guys) managed to pack into such a small and affordable-to-all digital board! After working for many years on analog mixers- I'm now trying all digital. Yamaha's are ok'ish (btw- M7cl and PM5d- both also have that "zipper noise" when dialing the gain) Did a show last month in LA on the amazing Midas Pro2- its great but expensive, not 'newbie friendly' and my lead singer thought that the x32's reverb sounds better :) Can't wait to see what comes with next firmware updates- de-esser (located @ gate knob imo) and multiband compression would be sweet. Most urgent to me: Graphic EQ's on the iPad app. One problem I encountered was a phase problem when sending same audio to a matrix via mains and mix busses. Here is a description of the problem: My goal was: to record from stereo matrix out, feeding from mains LR plus adding individual contributions to stereo aux bus 9-10 (Post fader) My problem was: when adding things to aux 9-10, it sounds 'out of phase' with whats coming from the mains LR feed to that matrix. Maybe that's because of the graphic EQ i have inserted on the mains? My solution was: routing all my inputs+fx+aux returns channels to stereo group bus 11-12 and send that to the matrix (instead of sending from main LR) plus adding stuff to aux 9-10. That worked and sounded great. The downside: wasting another pair of mix busses in the process. Any advice? another workaround? Cheers.
