Looking at the KT DN9650, this would give you an external Word Clock which would be a cool option for studios.

As far as the re-patch question this would not work as the DN9650 is setup for Midas and KT AES50 which is 24 channel bi directional AES50.

They use 24 channel as they need to be 96K compatible.  Which as it goes... higher sampling rate = less channels down the cable.


The X32 is using 48 bi-directional channels.

Each connector supports 24 bi-directional channels operating at a fixed sampling frequency of 96kHz for compatibility with existing Midas and Klark Teknik AES50-equipped products.


I will check with the development team on the ducker/expander question.
