Re: forum etiquette Ah, the days of news servers, Gopher and for the non-elite: newsgroup gateways to FidoNet for us lowly BBS users and sysops. And not all usenet groups were filled with sanctimonious jerks - just the Unix ones :p Once again, just because someone is asking an "obvious" question isn't necessarily an indication of them not "searching" long enough for it  When I finally get my x32 it's nice to know there will at least be some forum members around that will answer without sarcastic attitude. And yes, I kind of expect this attitude while trundling around the Interwebs and generally I try to ignore it, but it's still anti-social and deserves to be called at least every once in a while. I never understood how being sanctimonious could be turned into some badge of honor, but that describes a good chunk of late 80's/early 90's usenet indeed! I'd hate to see that perpetuated here or any similar forums. I think we can do better than that era and I certainly don't hold that up as the model for community support!
