software updates - USB stick issues - my solution

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this and apologies if so. My USB stick is not recognised for doing a software update when using the standard method of booting up the X32 with the USB stick inserted - however if I use the alternative option of changing the sample rate ( which causes a reboot) the usb stick is recognised and the update loads fine and dandy.

Also the said stick is fine to record to.
