The first cat5 cable I tried were ones I had lying around (I think supplied with a BT ROUTER) these had metal ends - could not get them to sync the s16 so swapped out for bogstandard cat5e which worked. May have been something else re these cables but at time assumed it was the metal shields on the connectors!!!!!!
