Re: Recording Setup Dear Marcus, You can certainly route your mix back into the DAW when mixing out of the box, but you will need to use 2 of the 32 outputs. There is a workaround for the banks of 8: On the "card out" page of the ROUTING menu, change one of the banks of outputs to "Out 9-16". Now, that bank of outputs to the DAW will mirror the XLR outputs 9-16 on the back of the X32. This would get your main mix to the DAW because Main LR is assigned to 15 and 16 by default. In order to not waste the other 6 inputs, you can individually assign any channel direct out to the remaining 6 outputs on analog outs 9-14, via the "analog out" page of the ROUTING menu. For punching in, I would suggest setting up the console in a "split" configuration. For example, you could use the first 16 inputs to be live signal from the XLR inputs. The second 16 inputs can be returns from the DAW. You could of course try a different configuration, such as 24 channels of mics and 8 channels of return from the DAW. For a click track, you will need to use one of your DAW return channels. You can certainly mix and match your DAW processing with the processing on the X32. Keep in mind the audio feeding the X32 from the DAW would include any processing on your DAW channel strip, and the X32 processing would therefore come after any plugins in the signal chain. Feel free to PM me anytime if you need any additional help. Best of luck and thanks for choosing the X32! Best, John DiNicola Senior Specialist, Product Support MUSIC Group BEHRIGNER
