Re: Scribble strip gripe How about if the desk had an iPhone charger built in...., or maybe a dedicated port for charging any USB device? A lot of this "I want" stuff is simply because the USB ports are there. I joked about connecting a Logitech Wingman joystick in a previous post, and someone replied adding that this would assist with quad panning (albeit with their tongue in their cheek). Maybe it would... There is an assumption that just because the connector exists on the X32, it should therefore be able to connect to every device known to man, and damn Behringer if it doesn't. By extension of the keyboard argument, why can't I use a graphics tablet? I mean, all I'd have to do is scribble the name of my channel and the software should be able to recognise my handwriting and input in. Where should it stop? e.g. I have a USB credit card reader connected to my X32. It doesn't accept Mastercard and it doesn't appear to register AirMiles when I use Amex, although my orders do turn up on time......... It looks like the USB ports on the X32 have been put there for fairly specific uses. e.g. top connector for USB stick to record the show and maybe for play in/out music. Rear connector (XUF card) for connection to laptop/computer for multitrack recording. Remote access to be managed by iPad and wireless router using the ethernet connector, or direct laptop connection using the other USB connnector. This seems to be the way that a lot of people work with the desk. By not buying an LS9, I saved a lot of money. With that money that I saved, I was able to get a laptop, wireless router and an iPad for use with my X32. I also got a 4 ways mains block and fixed it into my Gtour case along with the router. Then I got a spare iPad PSU and put it into the mains block. The laptop plugs into the 4th socket. Hey presto, all devices connected in one case, with one mains cable required to connect the whole lot up. Even then, I wouldn't want to try naming a channel using the iPad. Much easier to use the laptop, imo Then again, I can imagine the uproar should USB keyboard connectivity be included. "There's nowhere on the desk to put the keyboard", "It won't fit securely into my flightcase", and so on. Some people are never satisfied. It it what it is folks. Stop griping about what it hasn't got and get on and have fun with what it has got.... Karl.
