Midas and Behringer compete in different market segments with different perceptions of "value". It is a bit like Toyota vs. Lexus, or Bentley vs. VW.I believe that Behringer has no real need to actually expand on the hardware/processing of the X32, they "only" need to make the firmware to allow integration and control of X32Core and X32Rack units to potentially build systems with 48 or 64 channels.
