X32 USB driver install fails

Subject says most of it...

On 2 different machines, a Win8.1 on ASUS tablet (full version of Win8.1), and Lenovo T61 with Win7 Home. Driver installation progresses until it comes time to connect the mixer to be recognized. Pop up window says to "disconnect the device, reconnect and power on". Tried it, several times. Driver installer says installation failed.

Rebooting the machines shows the driver, but any connection attempt fails. Reinstalling the drivers does not change the result.

Anyone else? Am installing with Admin privileges...

Double check that you use the correct driver. I've done that misstake before.

Change the usb cable.
Is this the x-usb or the x-uf? If so, check that the x-uf is in usb mode and not firewire.

Check in the device manager if it shows and what it says. Verify the pid and the vid.
