Right now I'm beta testing a beta version of "LiveProfessor2". Imho the nicest innovation to the current 1.1.3 version, is the fact that LP2 will also contain a Mac version.
Though the Mac version is an early beta, it already works really great with the X-USB card of the Behringer X32 familiy8)~~

The LiveProfessor is a plugin host like Waves Multirack, but in my eyes it outperformes Multirack. Routing, Presets, snapshots, midi...nearly everything is more advanced.
BTW: LP is only 87$ and in contrast to the Multirack (which is to my knowledge "Waves only"), LP can host any VST/VST2/AU plugin.

As far as I know, LP2 is not close to an official release. But the beta version is already very promising. I will post an update, when this great piece of software will be available.
Windows user can of course check out the current 1.1.3 version. Unfortunately I doubt, that a windows computer will perform stable with such low buffersizes (32/64Samples).
Of course I would be happy, if you proof me wrong.

Thank you Christian.

I am using both. Waves Multirack also Soundgrid Waves Multirack and LiveProfesor.
I can not confirm if Windows is stable with such low buffersizes (32/64Samples).
Good point to test it inside waves-soundgrid network. I will try.

Thank you once more for all your posts.

This week I have been experimenting with a program called Pedalboard2 (http://www.niallmoody.com/apps/pedalboard2). It has flexible routing, presets and midi control.

It's freeware and not currently being worked on. It's also 32bit only. I'm using it on a mac mini. Had to overcome a couple of issues, but I've been testing it using a 64 sample buffer, while also recording 40+ channels multitrack in reaper with a larger buffer and it's been working well. Seems like it would be ideal for those on a budget.
