Apologies if this re-opens a can of worms...
I've read somewhere on these boards about the distinction between Wireless Access Points (WAPs) and Wireless Routers for use enabling remote control of a digital mixer. A bit of research shows that the WAP cannot host a network, assign DHCP, nor connect to an ISP, while a wireless router does all of that in addition to providing wireless access. Additionally, economy of scale seems to have brought prices of routers below that of WAPs, despite their increased functionality.
So, if you were planning to install a wi-fi device in a road case to connect your X32 Rack to an iPad for remote control, which type of device would you choose, and why?
