Since Bennett or David havent given me anything to road test, I'll be reviewing David Karol himself. Know to many of you as the young boy genius and creator of this fine form. We are out at a gig for the honorable Jason Dermer and intern Paul has stepped up to the plate with some fine mixing, thus leaving Tom and myself time for some minor shenanigans.

You should probably worry more about the breakers you keep tripping instead of posting on the forum!

Not much to report so far since I've been busy behind the board in the next room over from David, but I did hear an unusually loud blast of bass as David was line checking a track act. I'll have to wander over an investigate once I get my next act up and rolling.

No wait now he's standing here at FOH near me, if he's here, than who is mixing in his room?

P.S. We were informed by Jason Dermer there would be free ice cream at this event, but there is none, not even any for sale, so lame.

Nope, no ice cream to be found. Brett is mixing on one of the stages right now, my stage is set, so we have a break for a bit.

You're just jealous because your subs can't keep up with the ADRaudio 618's!

Re: David Karol

I know what's the deal the ice cream. I was told 3 things about this gig.
Date, time, and that there would be free ice cream.

Also David stage is about 20 degrees warmer then ours. It could be that HOT mix he's go goin on. That PA almost tore that poor girls cloths off.

Re: David Karol

Correction, 1 JBL MPro 18" sub. But wait, I coulda sworn I saw 2 coupled in front of the stage....hmmmmm. Hahahaha. That being said, the single did it's job and then some!

Re: David Karol

So how are we going to turn this into some kind of review, before Bennett moves this to the basement? We have at least another day since he's on "Vacation", something I didn't know that existed in months that didn't end in EMBER.

Also thanks again to Jason Dermer for sending us all out to this gig, as you can tell we all had a great time. Ever stage sounded excellent all day. Even system 4 which many of you would label as the “under dog” of the group sound excellent, due to the talent running it. I never once walked over, heard a band and though, that more PA or a “nicer” PA would achieve better results.

Re: David Karol

Well we're reviewing David Karol so let's see:

pros:
-can mix a band
-knows smaart and digital consoles
-good roadie / stagehand skills

cons:
-no locking IEC or powercon inlet
-not designed to be rack mounted, fit in a truck pack, or overhead airplane compartment
-freq response (-10db points) 70-10,000 Hz
