Just saw Dave Rat post on his facebook about a new EAW line array which (in different words) CHANGES THE GAME....:lol::lol::lol:

Who knows anything?

I have heard rumors of some pretty serious hardware revisions happening to the VENUE line soon (to bring them up to the new HDX architecture/AAX plugin format).

Spill it!

Re: Equipment rumor mill

I got an email from Avid today saying that they have an event scheduled to introduce new products on April 8th. I have my alerts set to only receive emails from them regarding live sound products, so hopefully this means we will get new products next week.

That will be for Pro Tools 11.... I am almost certain....:D~:-D~

hrrmmm...I think EAW has a loooonnnggg ways to go before they can recoup their lost reputation.

Yeah, I don't care if it makes Jon Meyer cringe with fear and gets James Lansing out of his grave.... it's got to be backed up by factory support that comes from more than one guy (the over-worked and under-appreciated Joe Fustolo). Parts and accessories need to be stocked, not built to order w/a 4 month lead time.

My best wishes to the good folks in Whitinsville, not so much to the idiots at Sun/LOUD.

Re: Equipment rumor mill

What did Dave say? I guess I'm not friends with him on FB.

Dave's post (which EAW also linked to): "Ooooh fun! A very exciting brand new super secret Eastern Acoustic Works large format PA system is arriving Rat Sound tomorrow. I have seen it, heard it and and helped a bit with the design and can honestly say it is not just another rehashed refinement of a conventional line array. This thing truly pushes the limits of current technology and features. While all the other manufacturers are focusing on rehashing ways to polish their version of the line array banana concept they copied from the original L-Acoustics innovation, V-Dosc, EAW has been busy thinking outside the box and made something really interesting."

Re: Equipment rumor mill

Well, one thing is for certain. If Dave endorses it (which he hasn't officially yet but probably wouldn't be posting pictures of it and commenting on FB if he wasn't going to), it should sound pretty badass. Dave has never been one to waffle on opinions of sound related issues (or otherwise) or settle for something that wasn't top notch ;)

Re: Equipment rumor mill

I must say I like the large horn-but then you already knew that-wink wink nod nod.

That has a lot of advantages-as some of us have known for awhile. Nothing "groundbreaking" about that-except that you don't find them in line arrays-normally anyway.

But there more to "it" than just a large horn.

Not to be a downer but, can Dave even hear anymore? Last time I saw him he was mixing sideways because he was losing his hearing in his right ear...

And I'd also like to think he endorses it because of his involvement with EAW/Microwedge, and will support it regardless because of the $$. :)
