Yes, we know Tom does great things and puts out some impressive products. Each has their own pro's & con's and when buying any speakers, you need to know your market. If you going after Touring Bands, Danley is on the very bottom of the acceptability lists. But I know many regional operators...

They are different flavors... each speaker/line array has its own purpose/design. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

The SRX712M/STX812M had like a price tag of like $1000each, so I'd stay around the $1000-1500 each.

Well a 2x18 comes in various levels of performance. 8000w doesn't tell us much about the amp. Like is that that 8000w bridged @ 4ohm or is that a 4ch amp capable of doing 2000w per channel @ 8 ohms. Curious... what is already in there? whats your budget, new or used?

I've been out of the market for a bunch of years and back then the SRX712m was the go to wedge for the "B-Level" acts. When I jumped back in, I picked up some powered wedges... While do I like powered wedges, I hate running twice the cables and trying to figure out power drops & extension cords...
