Douchy McDoucheBag.

Re: Douchy McDoucheBag.

I've had the exact same bulls#!t happen to me. When I got smart I started to refuse to operate the CD and/or any playback of any kind. I told the artist either he does it , his "manager" (there's always 5-10 of those around) does it or basically anyone else does it but me. I'm much happier this way.

Hey Void - wouldn't running the CD make you a performer in the show? (grin)
I do like your solution, though.

This whole thing makes me question whether I want to advance the business to the level of "small potatoes"

Re: Douchy McDoucheBag.

I knew a FOH tech that worked for a well know singer, quit 3 times for being berated, and kept goin back for more and more money. I believe he currently still has the gig at $2300 a night.

Sounds like he needs to "quit" again. How can he possibly get by on 2300/night for pushing some faders-----------------

Take the money and run is what I say.

I would be willing to clean toilets at that price. Everyone has their price and mine is just a little less than that. I will even say, "Yes o great one, your wish is my command!" I also will lie and say with enthusiasm, "You are so talented!" and "fantastic show!" even if you are not and the show wasn't. Being the subject of berating is just one more service I offer at the $2000 per night rate. At $2300 per night I include your choice of 5 minutes of verbal abuse in the green room either pre or post show and my $2700 per night package includes all of the above plus an extra 14 minutes and 28 seconds of verbal abuse on the tour bus. For an extra $250 I will even remove my earplugs and quit saying, "La la la la la la la la."

Re: Douchy McDoucheBag.

Actually that's not bad do you give 10% of your income to charity each month?

You are misreading it. She set up a charity, of which only 10% of the money that she collected went to the recipients that the charity was set up to benefit.

<edit> Federal regulations stipulate that a minimum of 5% go to the final benefactors. There are some exceptions, which our former governor have used, where only 1% is required.

She also donates 10% of her income that month to the charity not just the auction
