If you're having to run the board that hot to get enough volume out of your system, I'd say look downstream a bit and see if you have a bottleneck in the DSP unit or the amps.

Are any of the outs on the DR260 flashing orange? That's the best sign that you're hitting a limiter somewhere.

Thanks Dick. I've come to the same conclusion. That's why I was wondering if the DC-one was a simpler yet good enough DSP. I was doing great with the DRPA, because I pretty much used it for it's limiters. Hopefully I'll understand the 260's functions better once I read the manual.

Peter, are you speaking of the threshold lights or the meters? The meters hit orange at about +18db. I don't recall seeing that, but I believe I was back and forth between the +5 and +12db lights.
