I got two of these resistors (not cats) on ebay for $25 each. 8 ohms, 4kw each. I was looking for something in the 1kw range and these popped up. I haven't used them yet though.

Cats can represent infinite resistance, until they get hungry or fall asleep... and they're far cuter than big, air-cooled resistors.
