Oh, OK! I guess at that point, I'd buy new stands for the real shows, and leave the repaired stands for rentals and other abusive climates.

Kudos to K&M for building stands that last 10 years, and are still in good enough condition to be worth repairing at that point!

It would be better if it were the 10 year old K&M that have the crimp problem rather than the ones I bought only 5 years ago.

From 1977 to 1992 I don't recall the loose crimp problem happening on any of over 100 K&M/Beyer booms in all that time.
I have bought about a dozen since 1997, and have made repairs to the crimp on at least 3 of those I remember offhand.

It sucketh.

Same here, I don't think anybody is trying to say that this problem happens frequently. Every piece of gear, no matter how well built, is going to wear out at some point.

weld it, and forget it.... haven't had one come loose after that... mind you i agree with the rets in saying for the price you pay for them - they shoudl stand up alot better, ha ha get, it, there's a pun in there somewhere...
