Moved posts

When a thread gets moved it doesn't say where it got moved to. So you have to take a guess and go find it.
Is it possible to have the "moved:" tag show where it went?

Jason,

We'll make sure to keep redirects up after moving threads. By default, I think they expire after some amount of time.

I had one problem recently where I merged two posts and moved one of them at the same time, and no redirect appeared. That could be the thread that's gone missing. I usually put up a redirect that expires after a week.

Sometimes whether it was moved to JV or to the basement will tell me if I still want to read it or maybe the topic swerved enough to require a reclassification.
