Namm 2015 - Anaheim

Re: Namm 2015 - Anaheim

Can one of you guys going to NAMM do me a favor? Stop by the Behringer booth and see if they have the new X-Touch control surface up and running-- the full sized one with the scribble strips and jog wheel.

I want an honest assessment of how well it works, how the faders feel and sound when they are moving, how well it works with Protools, and when the actual ship date is going to be. And if you can take some close up pics and maybe a video of it working and send them to me, that would be even cooler.

And then don't forget to goad them a bit for releasing it as vaporware at last year's NAMM and it still hasn't shipped yet.

Behringer's Slogan... We build a concept and then 2 years late we release after seeing how others did it.

Might as well keep it all in the same post...

JBL STX800 - Powered!!!! but with IEC :'(

EV EXK - it falls in between the ELX & ETX. I didn't think there was that much of a pricing difference in the speakers.

A few new items on the X/M32 platforms...

Apart from the looks what is the difference between this and the x32 core ?- except maybe the 96khz future ?- the rumours have been that the x32 and M32 families share the same DSP - will the future variance be that there will be firmware upgrades that apply to the M32s and not the x32s e.g. 96khz working?

Re: Namm 2015 - Anaheim

And there was me about to buy an S16 stage-box.

The SD16 looks to be pretty cut-down in comparison (no UI, no headphones, no ADAT outs). Hopefully the street price will be nowhere near $799 which is only $100 less than an S16.

Then again, an S16 with my old ADA8000 to give eight more outputs, and a 1U multi-way headphone amp/mixer in a four-slot portable rack is maybe still more useful?

How long until the SD16 hits the street, I wonder?

A few more new products I find interesting...

Soundcraft's answer to the Behringer XAir series:

Sennheiser's MI entry to 2.4ghz Digital Wireless:
http://en-us.sennheiser.com/ew-d1-835-s

DBX Driverack 260 replacement:
http://dbxpro.com/en-US/products/driverack-venu360

Looks like a good update to the DR260.

It took them long enough considering DBX is already on the third version
of the Driverack PA series.
