Avid is releasing info on the S6 tomorrow, which may or may not have application for live sound. They already have the S3L console out, but it is not clear whether the S6 will be dual purpose or not, it might just be for studio use. The video looks promising, and suggests that the S series is the likely platform that the successors to the Venue range of consoles runs on, and that there may be several S series consoles eventually. Given that Avid just EOL'ed their Icon consoles (the same tech platform as Venue but for studio use), the writing is likely on the wall for Venue too.
