Truck Graphics~To do or not to do?

Re: Truck Graphics~To do or not to do?

Anyone running a truck (over 10,000lb gcw) for a business has to have a DOT number, and DOT regulations require at least the business name and DOT number on both sides in a font at least 2" tall (to be read from 50'). If you aren't doing this, you will be in big trouble when you get to a weigh station.

Might be different in your state, but in Texas you only need it if you are participating in interstate commerce. If you never take it out of your "home" state, you don't need that.

No, but I usually end up figuring out who's working on a gig by the markings on the road cases if they are out in the open. Mainly because I don't usually want to interrupt the FoH tech.

Which is why I HATE to cross-rent to people who only know how to make things sound bad, because my name on the cases gets associated with their lack of talent.

(Yes, it has happened.)

Around here there seems to be 2 views. Most have white trucks. Most also seem to have a cryptic DBA that they use on the truck. Think "jb associates" with DOT number.

The other folk are the big dogs in the area. All trucks, trailers, gensets etc are all painted the same with company name prominent on the sides. When you see dozens of their trucks around town for a big event you know they are the big dogs.
We have the white dogs and the black dogs :-)

Another down side for the BioWaste idea is that it might make you a target for zombie attacks!!!
I do like the road case idea, but might I suggest that instead of "No Drinks" that "Don't Flip" would be better.
Which reminds me of a picture I found on another forum of the bottom of a road case on which was stenciled "Damn it, it said don't flip".
