Since Behringer released a public Beta Version, I think we are invited to report bugs publicly and also think it is a good idea to collect all bug reports regarding new FW in one place on this forum.
Ill start with something I found last night and repeated today:

At moment no audio from inputs on layer 3 ( Aux 1-6, USB, FX returns ) is passing to mixbuses configured as subgroups,
input layer 1 and 2 seem to be fine

please confirm

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Both, but this place is still highly frequented from X32 owners and some of them seem to be tempted to try the new FW on a gig against behringers recommendation

Cant say that I had that happen to me. I was passing audio on the Auxes and FX Returns just fine on V2

Not completely sure if this is a bug or not, or if this happens on V1.15 or if it is just V2, but I found if you have audio passing through an effects processor, then select a different type of effect, BUT DO NOT ASSIGN IT YET, it will produce a study output of whatever audio was passing through it at the time, in other words, a steady buzzing noise. The only way to stop it is either select the type of effect you previously had, or assign a different effect.

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Well, maybe my description wasnt clear enough.
I tried to route the USB inputs on layer 3 to a stereo subgroup, the signal does not arrive in the subgroup,
directly going to master bus works.

downgraded to FW 1.15, everything works as expected, upgraded FW to 2.01, redid routing, no audio on the subgroup,
initiallized console, the same, confirmed behavier with Aux1 and 2, and FX1 return, changed subgroup to postfader, signal appears,
changed buses back to subgroup,
reassigned USB Inputs to layer 1 and 2, routed to said subgroup, audio apears on that subgroup.
So I think, it is not a matter of FX insert

Hope, this description is better

Very clear. Thank you. So for now don't change the firmware unless we can be sure it okay to do so. My X32 is a production heavy machine and may not break over a beta release. And i am personally pretty exited about the pultech thingies.. So i remain waiting till the RTM release is there.

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Found out more about the bug:

Started this time with template 6-6-4, which means 6 prefader buses, 6 subgroups, 4 postfader buses to FX1-4

Talking only about Input layer 3 ( Aux/USB/FX returns ):
Im able to send USB inputs ( Nr 7 and 8 on this layer ) to a subgroup with using Mute buttons Nr 3/4 in Send_on_Fader_Mode,
Mute buttons 5/6 send FX1 ( Input 9/10 ) to subgroup, Mute buttons 7/8 send FX2 ( Input 11/12 )to subgroup....

Seems like in Send_on_Fader_Mode Mute button Nr 3 belongs to Input Nr 7 and so forth.

If nobody can understand, what Im trying to express, this is because now Im in routing nirvana
Surely Behringer guys can sort this out pretty fast

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Does behringer have a user forum, or ability to accept bug reports directly?

JR
Yes there is John. Many of the members here are also very active on the Behringer forum and everyone is welcome to join us. There is a V2.01 Beta Bugs thread already started. But I can assure you both threads (here and there) will be read and considered.

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Hello Everyone,

My name is Evan Hooton and I am a Product Specialist with BEHRINGER. As Paul mentioned there is a V2 BETA firmware thread on the Behringer.com forums. We are working to combine the two and pass them along to the development team. If you are interested in looking at this thread, it can be found here: V2.01 Beta Bugs

Thank you all very much for your thoughts and reports on this public BETA version of firmware V2 for the X32 console.

Re: X32 V2 Bug Reports

Found more "interesting" behavior:
in 1.15 hitting SoF takes the output section to the second layer ( mix bus 1-8 ), in 2.01 the output section keeps status.

So lets say you are on DCA layer, by hitting SoF the output section stays on DCA layer but the console is ready to do SoF remembering the last selected mix bus.
Obviously doing SoF from the channel perspective will not work now, you will have to select the mixbus layer first.

Maybe this is not a bug but sign of things to come, to me it looks cumbersome when doing monitors from FOH.

Another observation:
I really liked playing with the Combinator, but have to throw away one sidechain effect ( reverb/delay ) for it.

Though Im familiar with uneven DSP resource distribution ( my first digital console to learn was the D1 ),
this is really hard.

I will gladly pay 2k bucks more for a console, where this restriction doesnt exist ( HINT ), and some more FX slots, maybe 8 more ( HINT, HINT )

Uwe

P.S. Nothing what I wrote is meant as criticism, I will always remember this console as the Big Bang for the buck buy
