X32 Discussion

re: X32 Discussion

Hello everyone

I was #45 on Thomann preorder list. I just looked into my customer account and it states "DELIVERED"

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should be here in Finnland round next thursday or so.........

I will immediately plunge into it and if anyone has things to ask - I try to answer.

I will be using it for pa-gigs with possible recording of the gigs with my macbook.
I will also try to set up remote with iPad2

I have absolutely no experience of the DAW-stuff - so please do not ask about that.

MAN - this is the same feeling as when we were waiting for Santa Claus as kids - I am 60 now.

Only thing is, that I still have to wait for the stageboxes to come for propably many weeks or months - same goes with personal monitor mixers.

Anyway - I promise to stay online and try to follow Christians footprints - he did an exellent service fo us all - hip hip hooray for him!

re: X32 Discussion

... It's now in stock in the US and Thomann (which is in Behringers home country) lists delivery date as 10th September 2012. DV247.com say 3 to 4 months....

Thomann is probably the biggest Behringer reseller in Europe,
I think they ordered a couple of hundred X32:
to me thats more reasoning than Thomann being a German store,
and yes they are sold out on the second delivery at least on the bundle ,

the first delivery is on its way to the end user at the moment

I'm one of them, got a text message from Thomann yesterday :D~:-D~

I believe that I read somewhere a good while ago that Thomann was one of the very first to place an order with Behringer, and as with everything else it is first come first served. If the retailers in Britain have to wait, it is surely because they were late in joining the queue, and why should Behringer reward them for their tardyness, and as a consequence punish others?

Hello all I just ordered one from musiciansfriend.com. It is supposed to ship tomorrow. So I should have mine installed in my theatre in Northern California soon after it arrives.

I originally ordered a Behringer X32 on June 11th from Musicians Friend, knowing they would be popular and back ordered. Recently inquired about the status after finding out they were in the warehouse and was told mine would be drop shipped, and service tried to get me one from the warehouse instead. Instead of that happening, I got an e-mail that the item was no longer available and my order was cancelled! So I re-ordered and got an e-mail that it's backordered. I ordered a long time ago to make sure I got the X32 ASAP and Musicians Friend dropped the ball.

They have a deal for no tax for CA residents right now which is great, but customer service is pretty bad...so bad in fact that if they don't take care of this I will no longer be a customer of theirs, or their sister company Guitar Center.

If you really want one, maybe try Guitar Center asap. I preordered mine and it's coming in on Friday for pickup. I heard they got a pretty good number of those from Behringer. I actually paid for mine in advance, hoping that would result in a priority situation. Their website still shows it 'in stock'.

Who has suggested they should? I can't see that anyone has said that. Someone suggested that Behringer might deliver in some OTHER order than the order in which the orders were received so as to serve their biggest market in first.

Since I ordered mine from DV247 on 11 march 2011 (ELEVEN) I would hope that my dealer put the order in then and would therefore get one of the first. If that has not happened because the dealer didn't put the order on Behringer then that is one thing. If Behringer are shipping out of order, that is unacceptable IMO.

re: X32 Discussion

I sure hope that folks who do start getting them can come back and provide some feedback in the forum, ala Christian-style (thanks, man!!), instead of vanishing into a technical haze....

That's an interesting point!

I think this new Behringer console stands a chance of winning awards, but what about Christian? He's done a heck of a lot of work here, for us, the forum, Behringer and basically the entire internet. I've seen posts and mentions on websites all over the place telling readers that this forum thread is the best place on the net to get good information on the X32. Uli himself has his own thread, but the best information always came through Christian!

So, maybe we should nominate Christian for an award? :)~:)~

As I see it, he's basically done Behringers marketing for them. He's kept us all entertained with his information and the bit I think is unbelievable is, if someone asked a particular question about a feature he didn't personally use, he went out of his way to try it and reported back his findings. That's not always the easiest thing to do when you're in a live gig environment.

So everyone.... how do we thank Christian for all his efforts? :)~:)~

No, I didn't think anyone suggested that some should skip the queue, but it would surely be tempting for the manufacturer to ship evenly to important markets regardless of wether the dealers in those markets were on the ball or just standing around scratching their behinds. IMO Britain and the US are the markets that lead the way in terms of pro-user acceptance, so getting in as early as possible is surely important.
As for someone ordering the unit a year ago and not getting it now, well that makes me happy I'm a Thomann customer. I'm not saving a dime buying Behringer from Thomann compared to buying it here in Norway, but I will probably have it on my doorstep before even the first demo unit is in the hands of the norwegian distributor. Thank you Thomann for exellent service!!!

re: X32 Discussion

I think Christian should receive the X32 Sprinter when its finished with the tour that still hasn't come to Chicago!

All kidding aside, I hope you get some free gear and Swag, maybe a consulting position with Behringer- and some day in the near future when Turbosound intellectual property gets put into the Behringer line of speakers you get to be on the demo jury again.

Thanks to Behringer and Christian for making this the most anticipated audio device in recent years!

That's an interesting point!

Wow - drag, Joshua :-(

I just checked the MF site, and I get a pop-up error box when I try to click on the search result for the X32 - looks like the product page is GONE. Considering that GC and MF are sister companies, and I ordered one from GC a couple days ago, I wonder if/how this may affect my order as well. I called GC yesterday, and talked to their CSR folks - they told me that large(r) dollar-amount orders like this are subject to a 'verification hold' on the funds, and that mine had just been released from this hold, and the unit would ship today (Friday). Quite frankly, if they're unable to get this thing in-transit by COB Monday, I'll just cancel the order altogether and look at my options in another 30 days or so.

Thanks to all the forum-folk for your updates and experiences.... We'll have this "one of these days".... ;-)

re: X32 Discussion

Christian definitely deserves something, maybe Uli should buy him a Behringer badged XL8 and Flashline rig

While I don't think neither Uli nor Christian want to compromize professional integrity by rewarding or accepting reward for a favourable review etc., there must surely be something we as a community can do to show our appreciation.

re: X32 Discussion

I have to say, I am very much looking forward to seeing what the first impressions are from actual buyers. The work Christian has done in this thread has been excellent and certainly has answered many questions I had about the mixer.

Anyone notice that the latest firmware release notes have a reference to the X16?
- hold UTILITY button to initialize console during boot (same function as UNDO but X16 doesn't have an UNDO button)

Interesting.

re: X32 Discussion

I agree, Christian has done great (far better than Behringer) and deserves some sort of reward .

I also find it strange that none of the UK suppliers have any of these yet !! I fullly agree with the first come first served principle mentioned earlier but I can believe that every supplier in the UK was late in placing orders.

I contacted all of the main UK suppliers for an update yesterday and posted the result on the behringer forum but funnily enough that post didnt get approved ! whilst another post I made later did ! looks like censorship of the forum ! (update -- after two days they have now approved it !!)

So here were all the comments from the UK suppliers in no particular order

Hi Kevin, many thanks for your email.

We don't get given ETA's for any Behringer order unfortunately. They are on order but we do not know exactly when we will see them, you would be need to prepare yourself for a potential wait of several months.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

Kind regards

No response back from them yet but I am #3 on the preorder list with them and there wesite is quoting 27th August & "Product still waiting to be released - UK Availabilty Unknown"

***************** DV247

From Andrew Prices post :

"Hi all!

I just had an interesting conversation with a helpful sales guy at dv247.com. Here's the bullets from him:

  • They don't have it in stock.
  • They called their supplier yesterday to enquire when deliveries are coming in.
  • There is no delivery date.
  • Rumour in the UK is "three to four MONTHS before the supplier can deliver."
  • The retailer wants to be as competitve on price as possible, so the recent price hike is due to a similar price hike by the supplier which may or may not be a result of Behringer raising the price. "

So looks like we will not see them over here for a while :(~:-(~

Or the proper iPad app, or the PC remote software, or the S16 ....... :(~:-(~

Sorry if Im sounding negative but its annoying when Behringer doesnt tell you anything .

re: X32 Discussion

Guys...seriously...
THANK YOU for all the nice words and wishes. I really appreciate it!

This is truly one of nicest online communities I ever joined,
so I have no regrets that I spend some time, trying to answer your questions.
About two years ago I sold all my mixing consoles (analog and digital) and jumped on the SAC train. Some months ago I would never dreamed of, to buy
an "ordinary" mixing console again. I just liked the possebility so much to be able to use all the plugins that I use during my studio jobs without any limitations concerning the count or brand of these plugin.
Then I got the X32 for a review and saw immediately, that this is possible with this desk too! From this point I must confess, I was hooked. You know the rest of the story.
I still belive the X32 is a milestone in it's price range but I must also say, that I have mixed feelings about the release date.

The good thing is, the X32 is acutally shipping. The bad thing for me personally is:
My "job" is more or less done.

In the next couple of weeks, lot's of X32 will come to their new owners and the discussion will hopefully go on in this forum. And of course, I will step in from time to time out of curiosity. The
X32 has so much to offer, and I'm sure that the Behringer guys will come up with new features and stuff on a regular basis. F.e. I strongly belive, that the Xremote PC editor software will arrive soon. The necessary firmware version 1.05 is now up on
Behringer.com and you should update your X32 to that version, if your desk has an older firmware.

One more personal view about the promised addition features/gear:
Actually I don't know anything, how business is done at Behringer. You should be aware, that Behringer is a multicultural and multinational company, so that the flow of information might be sometimes difficult to handle. I just know the guys from Behringer Germany, and what I see is, that these guys are basically working their asses off to get the X32 and the additional stuff on the road. Sometimes, even if everthing runs smooth first hand, there are things/conditions/circumstaces, that nobody can anticipate. I know just very little about this in detail and I didn't ask further - all I can say is, the Behringer guys that I know, are nothing but awesome and do almost everything, that this console will operate correct. Right from the time, when you push the power button for the first time. But heh...just wait a week or two and you will see for yourself!

All the best - it was a blast!
Christian

re: X32 Discussion

I've done some experimenting with the demo for SAC (With an M-Audio Profire 2626 and two ADA8000s I had in my home studio) - Being a software developer by day makes me naturally more entrusting of software (I even started developing my own ASIO digital mixing system before I found SAC) but I still can't shake the fact that I am essentially hedging the whole reliability of my system on a chopped down windows installation and the stability of the drivers M-Audio have developed, the lack of remote gains is a problem I feel.

The X32 seems to do everything I want to accomplish, especially when combined with the S16. I've never been this excited for a product launch before. I'm definitely interested in what the X16 will turn out to be, I know you mentioned something about it being a rack-bound unit (I hope with a control surface, not a tiny 2u remote-only device surely?).

I plan on having the X32 and then next to it a small rack containing a 2u racked PC, CD player and my trusty MX200.

I can't wait, I hope the UK prices stabilise.

Actually Musician's Friend just sent me a "shipped" notice, with the no tax deal for CA...saved $280.
Woohooooo! They've redeemed themselves bigtime. A little complaining sometimes goes a long way. Probably doesn't hurt that I've spent many thousands over the years with them either.

Should have my X32 Tues. or Weds!
