X32 Discussion

re: X32 Discussion

Dear all,

Indeed we just released the iPad app which can now be downloaded for free from the app store. There is also a video on YouTube that demonstrates how easy the installation is.
All you need is a simple wireless router for US$ 50 and you're ready to go. Unlike with other systems, you don't need a separate computer and what is really cool is that you can connect up to 10 iPad's simultaneously. Over the coming months we will be adding exciting new features to the XiControl that will make it a state-of-the-art remote app.
Also, we will be releasing the PC Remote Software very soon.

What is the status of the Android app?

In Canada, the distributor confirmed X32 reception after mid september ... The wait is too long ! I might get one from the US ...

re: X32 Discussion

I e-mailed Uli directly about the UK situation, and have a response from him and also from John Steven, their Customer Support Manager. Uli has specifically asked me to post the information on this forum:

"We understand your frustration, however allow me to clarify. We have two direct customers for the UK which are Electrovision and Digital Village. Electrovision is our distributor who serves all UK dealers and Digital Village is our direct account.
From our order book, both parties were relatively late in ordering the X32 and also ordered a relatively small amount of consoles. Digital Village ordered the consoles for July 2012 shipment while other customers placed orders way over a year ago and hence get supplied accordingly.
From what we can see, there a few consoles on the water for Digital Village but you would have to check with them when they will arrive exactly."

I have asked DV to comment.

Dave, thanks for the update , my apologies to Behringer it looks like its the dealers after all ! You must be pretty pissed off with DV247 considering you ordered yours last year !

I spoke with studio spares this morning and was told that they still dont know when they are getting any but they were top of the list ! Yeah sure . I kept my preorder open with them at the moment and Ive got an expected date of 10/09/12 from thomann so which ever one comes first gets the business.

I am in the same situation - what is the cancellation policy with Thomann? - as I have pre-paid with them but not with studio spares - by the way did studio spares say whether they would honour the price you pre-ordered at (presume that was lower than the current price)?

re: X32 Discussion

Hello

I ordered my X32 in mid June - it is coming propably on thursday, if UPS does not loose it somewhere. Today at 18.00 it was in Glostrup Denmark

I paid it then - 2105,69 exkl VAT including case - now their price seems to be 2268,29 + VAT

So I feel VERY pleased with Thomann.

I orderd same time two S16, that are coming sometimes later. Paid 973,98 exkl VAT

on August 3rd I ordered two P16M and one P16I - expected them to arrive later in the fall - low and behold - just got sms saying, they´re shipped.

Nice job Thomann - so next wek I am able to share information on how these puppies work together.

I have a three day job starting on thursday - 3-4 bands each night - X32 is due to arrive on thursday. If I get it on time, I take it with me and plug it in on friday..... I am quite sure I can use it off the box - little hesitation on using effects, but I guess one just has to try it....

But when are we starting to get info about X16 ????? it is mentioned at s16 brochure.

Obviously it is - as the model name indicates - one half of X32 - possibly with fever channel features.

But wouldn´t it be nice, if one could use it as monitordesk with X32 in FOH and somehow be able to select, which 16 channels of 32 were feeding the X16.

Uli - bitte - if it is not too late asking, please cosider this option.

Even if not, it still is going to be great for smaller gigs. If you need beta tester.... Und ich spreche auch Deutsch......

re: X32 Discussion

There's a 30 day return policy with thomann so no problem there and I don't think they would have a problem re selling it lol.

I didn't ask about honouring the price as I bet the one from thomann comes first. I would have ordered from thomanns first if I knew studio spares price would go up!

Congrats!

Please share some informations especially about the routing possibilities and the build quality of P16M and P16I.

Thanks in advance!

re: X32 Discussion

Hi guys,

our X32 arrived at saturday, the other soundguy in my small company made himself familiar with the console within two hours and took it out to his gig, 14 Inputs, 5 monitor mixes and FOH mix.
No problem at all, he got more compliments as usual from the audience
XiControl worked ( Mix position was from the side of the stage )

Today we digged a little deeper in the console:

- True EQ does what it says, adjacent filters add without ripple
- latency behaves as promised
- routing to subgroups works by unmuting the channel in Sends on Fader Mode, while the sub group is selected

but I found some minor things that I would like to discuss:
- muting a DCA does not light up the involved channel mutes
- mix busses ( spelling JR ? ) can only be changed in pairs to Pre/Post fader or Sub group
- I can assign only the FX page to an UDK, if this FX is Dual Mono for example GEQ, this page has two layers, so I need to press another button to get to the other layer

overall this thing is killer like Uli Behringer promised in Frankfurt, so thank you for this product

Uwe

It would be pretty cool if Behringer set up some sort of public bug report and feature request system (Mantis?) like many open source projects. I'm all for transparency, I think something like that would be fantastic, I'm not holding my breath though .

re: X32 Discussion

Yep, we run into this while beta testing. I hope it will be adressed some day. Otherwise, don't mute DCAs...just use a mute group:)
Wouldn't be very good if they lighted up either, you would assume the mute on the channel was active and push it before realizing it was the DCA, having muted the channel in two places ;)~;-)~ Maybe if the mute light could flash when a channel was DCA muted?

I'm pretty sure they will implement something, but probably not this week :)~:)~
I can imagine that with soon to be thousands of users, we'll have a lot of cases of "one man's bug is another man's feature" and thus the development team will end up with a lot of conflicting information and requests to sort thru' and evaluate. I imagine a user group would be handy, a group where proposed and requested features could be dicussed.

Dear Per,

As you know from our conversations, we're a company that likes to beat expectations, so we're going beat your week estimate on this. :)

Seriously, this is an excellent suggestion and we've created a thread on the BEHRINGER forums for people to post issues and feedback about the X32, that is open for all to see.

Of course, we also continue to read and collect feedback from all the great pro audio community forums like SoundForums.net and appreciate all of your feedback.

Thanks!

re: X32 Discussion

What demand? There is plenty in stock at guitar center (but not anywhere else). If any one wants one, you know where to go. Cancel from the others... I wonder how this gonna pan out.

Good to see you're paying attention.
We probably had in mind something more extensive than simply starting a new topic, but I'll let you off the hook for now.

I suggest everybody with more than a passing interest in the X32 register in the Behringer forum and start using that forum for the stuff that needs Behringer staff's attention, makes it a bit easier when all the particular stuff is to be found in one place.

This thread is home to the X32 on the net thanks to Christian and the warm welcome by others in contrary to PSW

and because of the Pro touch of Soundforums most contributions keep a certain level.
I cant see this happening on the Behringer forum, maybe if they hire Christian as a Mod.

What Id love to see is one of the designers joining the discussion here, but they probably have absolutely no time

re: X32 Discussion

I've just joined this forum but I've been following it since it started, just want to thank everyone that contributed to all the valuable info here, especialy Christian !!!!
I'm glad to see some desks being in stock and delivered, I've pre-ordered from a local dealer in Nov 2011, they said the ETA is 16 August, juat hope that they are right about it as there is only one importer/distributer in South Africa and reading about all the stock availability problems because the dealers did not order them in time makes me wonder how long it's gonna take to get here ???
Thanx again, this is an awesome forum, Ich liebe es.
