re: X32 Discussion
Hello to All
UPS did speed up and the console is now laying on top of my Studer 980 - bubblewrap cushion between to protect knobs, of course - I am taking it to three days / 12 bands gig tomorrow.
I have three TC-Helicon active minispeakers - L+R+ one Wedge - not too offensive in living room.
Basic setup was a breeze - I´m only having four monitorgroups on subs 1-4 and L+R Thinking to use only 11miclines plus discomixer assigned via RCA-connections into ch15+16 - so no layerjumping on first night.
Visually very clean and informative - everything is easy to find quickly.
Mechanically very sturdy ( concidering its only 10lbs of pure plastic.....) - all faders and encoders move nicely with feel and switches are firm.
Listening my own voice with Sennheiser headphodes and MBHO dynamic mic sounds familiar - I´ve heard that sound before...... ;-))
Tomorrow I get to hear other voices and mixed channels summing behaviour... But nothing that bugs now.
Reverbs seem very nice and interesting - possibility to set parameters like reverb time and tap tempo on "personal" encoders and switches is plain fantastic - no matter, where I am tweaking, my right hand allways has those knobs ready and waiting.
Only problem so far is, that I can not make connection with my iPad via Airport Extreme ( one of those older round UFO routers ) so there will be no remote so far.
Have to get some computerguy to pop over and set it up - oh well - as long as there are only faders ad mutes, but when other parameters come to remote - including effects parameters - THEN Iwant it to work.
Next week I shall receive two Powerplay P-16M personal monitors and will report of them later.

p.s. The X-32 came with nice dustcover.
p.s. 2 The Thon case from Thomann is exellent - four butterfly latches - six carrying handles.
Console fits snugly with spare space on connector side.
Very manageable alone, too.
