After years of having Infocomm on my calendar, but never pulling the trigger and going, I'm thrilled to have been motivated by Jason Raboin to go.

We'll be headed there late on 6/17 through 6/19.

What are some things not to be missed at this year's show? I imagine I'll be wandering the massive show floor non-stop.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice.

Best,
David

Re: Infocomm???

I will be there with Danley and we will be showing some new large and small speaker systems (true touring and install), some new "super power" amplifiers, new DSP etc.

We are celebrating 10yrs.

Come by the demo room-demos are on the odd hours for us.

Re: Infocomm???

I'll be there with the rest of the Rational Acoustics gang. We are sharing booth space with iSEMcon microphones, and Fulcrum Acoustics. I've heard a rumor about some cool new FA stuff, we'll see when we get there.

Re: Infocomm???

I'll be there, but you knew that already David. I'm excited to hear the Fulcrum Acoustics line array (cardioid?), the Meyer Leopard, L'acoustics X Series, Martin MLA Mini, and hopefully get my hands on the S6L for a few minutes.

I think in a few years the S6L is going to be where the Profile is today - at every major festival, often several of them. Having recently mixed 8 shows on a Digico SD-8, and having the monitor engineer's Midas Pro 2 go down two weeks out of the box makes me even more excited for the S6L.

Stop by, and say hi, we can chat about it!

Re: Infocomm???

I too am finally going to make it after many years of canceling last minute. Looking forward to a lot of new products out there and putting some forum faces with names.

Good first day of Infocomm. The S6L is simply stunning and I think it will be the new standard soon. Much more approachable than a Digico. It was as if a Profile and a Vi had a Digico baby, kind of had good qualities from all the desks I like.

On consoles the new Vi consoles are a very slick update to a personal favorite console. I have a feeling they are still a lot of money more than I think they should be, but they are out of my range regardless.
The Si Impact is very slick, may become my new top recommendation for the churches I serve that need power but simplicity for volunteers.

The Digico S21 was also a slick, streamlined console. Almost no buttons. Very nice feeling console.

Fulcrum small cardioid array was pretty impressive too, almost no energy off the back of the array. Sharp guys with great design philosophy.

Meyer's demo did not impress me, loud, but not the high fidelity I would hope for. I wouldn't turn down the PA, but didn't knock my socks off like I thought it would.

Danley Sound Labs however was a grand slam. Of course I always read that on the forums but seriously, their demo was not even a comparison. I could hear stick definition on cymbals and picks on guitar strings. Really impressive stuff. It kind of ruined the rest of the show for me as they were that much better sounding than anything else [emoji12]

That is what happens when you have a single source of sound instead of multiple sources

The multiple sources smear the sound which covers up the detail

I'm shocked the Danley speakers sound good?

Anybody who is surprised by this hasn't been paying attention.

Congrats as usual.

PS: Later you can tell us how a line array can be a single sound source. If course calling a point source a line array when customers are demanding line arrays is just smart business.
