Midas Pro 2

Re: Midas Pro 2

The current range of consoles do not support pre/post eq mix sends. There is only pre/post fader only. There are some work arounds, but whether these would work for you will depend on the specifics of your situation. The architecture of the current hardware does not allow us to include the extra signal path.

apologies for the negative angle on the answer.

Now that it's been a couple years, has there been any updates to correct the pre/post eq mix to sends? I too, would love the ability to mix monitors from foh in preEQ mode.

Re: Midas Pro 2

Apparantly it's a hardware limitation. I don't quite understand that - from having 20 years experience as a professional programmer - but i'll take their word.

If you've got spare channels, double patch and use one set for monitors; or get fancy with the matrix mixer as one of your effects slots.

It’s a bit of a deal breaker … as I understand there may be a hardware limitation regarding the number of signal path through the DSP.
I normally use pre-fade / pre-EQ when I’m doing monitorsfrom FOH. Maybe you could use the channel direct-out and route it to a pre/fader/EQ send (?)
I never use the channel direct outs when doing monitors fromFOH.

Re: Midas Pro 2

good day!
I have some questions about connections between PRO 3(FOH) and PRO1 (MON) in master-slave mode, could someone answer m? please !
1) if we have one DL351 for PRO3 can we share this channels for PRO1? and how much can we share?
2) if we can send channels to PRO1 will we be able to control monitor mixes both on PRO3 and PRO1 or only on PRO1?
Thanks!!!

Re: Midas Pro 2

Dear Liliya,

Yes, I/O can be shared between consoles. The connections would be as follows: AES50 from the DL351 to the PRO3, then AES50 out of the PRO3 to the PRO1. The PRO3 would control the analog head amp gain while the PRO1 has digital trim (-40dB/+20dB). A major feature of the PRO Series console range is their ability to be networked and share large amounts of channels. With a PRO1, all of its 48 primary Input Channels (including Aux Returns) can be sourced from other desks, stage boxes, etc. Monitor mixes are controlled independently.

Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me with any further questions.
