Is it possible to patch a physical input from the console to the stereo channels? they keep calling them stereo channels/ returns but I can not seam to patch any of the combi inputs to them was hopping to use 2 of them for I-thing and cd I usually only run 2 fx

Now I'm not sure about the Impact but on my Expression 2 I have the 1/4 inputs 1 and 2 I use for my iPod mapped from the default stereo input on layer two to a fader on the top layer. I don't play with the FX returns that much but in the same fashion any number of them can be mapped to the top layer if that's what you're asking.

No that is not possible, Unfortunately. i wanted to do exactly the same, the problem with the impact is that there are no stereo inputs, only mono jack inputs.
the only use of stereo the returns is to get fx on your mix(aux) busses.

Interesting. Can't you define an input as stereo and assign a pair of inputs to it? On the Expression changing the channel assigned to the 1/4" input 1 into a stereo input automatically added input 2 so that I have a handy pair for running an iPod. I would have thought that the Impact would do the same thing. Same thing as assigning a pair of XLR inputs as a stereo pair for something like a DI'd keyboard and controlling it from one fader. I don't think you can assign random inputs as a stereo pair, all I've done is sequential ones. For that matter you should be able to create a "subgroup" with two inputs controlled by one fader as well.

I have used the Si Impact for some months now and I am satisfied with the product so far but I am still missing the Visi Listen app. It is six months since that you said that is was close to be released. When will it be available?

You have found the number one problem (in my opinion) with Soundcraft consoles:
When you buy, they promise regular updates, but they absolutely do NOT deliver on that promise.

It's really sad, but I just don't think they understand just how critical wireless functionality is to the customers that use the SI series consoles.
It has got to be absolutely killing their attempts to sell consoles.

If they get ViSi Listen working and start updating ViSi regularly (if you're listening Soundcraft, that means a continuing process of updates, not deliver one or two functions and quit) , then they could compete in the console race. Until then, the X consoles will continue to sell at a crazy rate while Si consoles rust on the shelves.

I doubt that will happen though. They just don't get it.

Yep. I use the iPad to rename channels on the Performer. Press and hold on the name. edit box opens. Type it in. Much faster than doing it on the console

I just got my new Impact last night, replacing my stolen Expression 3. So far so good. Functions much like the Expression but I love the scribble strips and VCA groups. Still patiently waiting for a VISI remote app that will let me edit effects!

Installed my first Impact and I'm becoming a fan. Sorry for the novice question, but how do I set the console up to record? I've connected the USB cable to the iMac. GarageBand sees the MADI card. But there have to be some settings or steps that I've missed due to my lack of experience with the software. (same with Ableton lite) Thanks guys -

Assign a direct output patch to USB channels for each channel that you want to send to your Mac.
 
I have heard that the si impact will be getting some upgrades eventually, specifically new faders. My dealer let me take it on a show and try it out and everything was great except the really cheap feeling faders.

Are there plans for an upgrade or is it possible to install the faders from expression on it?

Si te sirve de consuelo ahora, acabamos de anunciar la nueva aplicación de escucha ViSi, que es una aplicación de monitoreo multiplataforma (iOS, andriod), entre dispositivos (tableta, teléfono) que permite a los músicos hacer su propia mezcla de monitores y, lo que es más importante, el ingeniero. para bloquear cada dispositivo a un determinado bus de mezcla. Este control se realiza en el extremo del mezclador.

Independientemente chicos, tienen una consola que funciona y si están contentos, ¡todo está bien! Esta es solo nuestra nueva oferta para aquellos que aún están indecisos o están listos para actualizar.

Sabe amigo una consola así debiera tener una entrada regulada para fonos no puedo creer que no tenga
