    Post edit flagged as SPAM

I just wrote a post in Junior Varsity and it seemed to work. Then when I tried to save an edit, the system said my post was flagged as SPAM and needed moderator approval. It seems very sensitive....

Maybe PA's are becoming too complicated....

I thought I'd share some minor challenges from the weekend's outdoor carols. It's a clear case of my not preparing enough ahead of time.... By 10am we have the FOH speakers plugged into the amps and up in the air on lifts. The PLM's are set for a previous, different, show so I go to load the...

Multiple Mackie Axis DC16's and DL32R's

Does anyone have any experience using multiple Axis DC16 controllers and multiple DR32R's on the same network? I'm guessing separate DC16/DL32 setups can coexist but I'm specifically interested in whether two DC16 control surfaces can talk to a single DL32R, and what happens with head-amp...

    Danley SH50 experience

BTW, I'm fine if this is moved into the Product Review area. On Tuesday I had the opportunity to mix on SH50's in a fairly reverberant ~30m x ~20m gym with brick walls on all sides. Steve Anderson (Danley Australia) supplied two pairs and with the stage in the middle of one of the long walls...

    Mackie DL32R oddities

Hi, Has anyone successfully mixed the Mackie control network with one of the Dante networks? As background.... I'm setting up a DL32R as remote head amps for some Yamaha consoles. I have dual (redundant) Dante networks set up and have Lake control running on the same network as primary Dante...

    FIR filters

Hi Mark, With the latest updates in Version 1.5, I've come up with some example screenshots which might help. Lets say after filtering, you want the mid driver to have a response of LR24 HPF minimum phase at 100 Hz and LR24 LPF linear phase at 650 Hz. In FIR Designer, - choose the "Direct...

    FIR filters

Re: FIR filters Hi Frank, Sorry for taking a few days to reply. I'm juggling this great thread with family activities and my "day" job. Regarding the use of the Hilbert transform.... Your plot shows a gently increasing delay in it's peak toward lower frequencies and I think this might be the...

    Loudspeaker black paint?

Does anyone in Aus. have any leads on robust satin black paint for loudspeakers? (Rockard's gone out of business and I haven't had a good experience with Duratex.) Michael

    DiGiCo S21?

Anyone have any recent news about the S21? It seems all has gone quiet. In early July the Aus importer said they had one, and in mid July it was showing at the Montreal AES Conference, but not with final firmware. Cheers, Michael

    NL8 wiring for 3-way?

Converting some large 3-way cabinets from EP8 to NL8. A web search suggests: 1+,1- LF(1) 2+,2- LF(2) 3+,3- MF 4+,4- HF For a 3-way, is the LF typically wired to the 1+,1- or 2+,2-? For now I've chosen: 1+,1- LF 2+,2- not connected 3+,3- MF 4+,4- HF which makes for a straightforward...

    Yamaha RIO HPF

Can anyone confirm that the high pass filters in the Yamaha RIO stage boxes are analog (under remote control)? It makes the most sense that they're analog - if they were digital they may as well be in the console - but I can't find any reference to this in the manual. Cheers,
