New Midas M32 Console

Re: M32 non responsive faders

I did my first show with my M32 in 40 degree centigrade weather about a month ago and had an issue, Faders not responding to layer changes. I was changing a layer and on a fader that should have changed position didn't until I touched it and then it went to the position it should have been in. I am on a show today where the in house crew who also has an M32 said they were experiencing the same thing. Anyone else experience this and is there a fix? Thought it might be because of the cold but today's inquiry confirms its not. Besides that the console sounds great.

Dear Chris,

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Bart Bolton and I am the Manager of the MUSIC Group Care Center in Nevada which is in charge of servicing and managing spare parts for the brands Midas, Klark Teknik, Turbosound, Behringer and Bugera.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying your M32! Since you mentioned cold weather in your post, it could be the lube used in the faders may be having an adverse reaction to the cold climate. In any case, we have found that simply exercising the faders (moving them repeatedly up and down) several times should take care of the issue.

If you are still encountering issues after trying the above please contact the MUSIC GROUP Care Department here in Las Vegas at 702-800-8290 or via email at [email protected]

We're here to help!

Thanks,

Bart

I would have expected that problem to be resolved by now.

Hi Chase,
This is all very good that new firmware is being released to sort out bugs and enhance the X & M 32 s. But when will the remote Sw essential for controlling the X & M Core's to allow full use all the upgrades over the last several months be released?

Dear Nick,

Thanks for the question however I don't quite understand what you're asking by "remote Sw essential". Would you mind clarifying?

Hi Chase,
sorry, possibly used the wrong terminology by saying " remote" re the SW.! Simply meant an upgrade to x32 & M32 Edit SW - & the ipad app ( though we do have Mix Station).Although the current versions can be used they do not include access to All the enhancements in the last few Firmware releases,
Some indication when the upgrades might be available would be welcomed by many,
Many thanks,
Nick

No news then! - (suppose I didn't really expect you to be able provide any)

Re: New M32 Firmware

Hi Nick,

We'll be coming out with new apps very soon however no ETA at this time. Current versions of M32-EDIT, M32-MIX, and M32-CUE work fine with the latest v2.12 firmware though. I'll make a post once an update is available.

Hi Chase,
Thanks - hopefully you will have an update on release soon. Btw do you know if the x- edit/ m-edit sw will be an enhancement of the current versions or will be in a new format ( eg along the lines of that provided for the x-air stuff) personally I like the current format that mimics the full console as it makes switching between the console and using say a Core straight forward.

M32 fader issue, still an issue post 2.12

Thought maybe this would be resolved post 2.12. Still had the switching between layers and not all the faders responding issue rear it's head again this past week. Anybody else seeing this? My show was outdoors under a tent in mid 80's with high humidity. Seems it's not a repeatable kind of thing but it's still an issue. :?~:-?~:???:

Re: M32 fader issue, still an issue post 2.12

Downloaded the Editor, nice feature for large screen, but a little bit helpless for my small macbook air, still larger than the screen.

Anyway, thank you guys for the work!

Re: M32 non responsive faders

I believe its the latest version 2.10 which I installed when I got it. I am not using my M32 on this show, mixing on a QL5 which is nice as well. Nicer even, but sure miss the 6 band parametric on all the outputs and the analyzer overlay on the eq.... I can check what they have here tomorrow as I am on a 3 day show.
For next time, the QL5 has 8 band PEQ available as an insert in the GEQ and FX racks. I think if not mistaken you can have up to 16 of them per rack, but at least 8.

Re: New Midas M32 Console

Hello...I just joined this forum because I'm close to ordering an M32 for my home studio and occasional live gigs. Any idea on when we'll see the promised 96k upgrade? I would love to have the ability to mix and edit work files at home.
