System expansion quandry

Re: System expansion quandry

Hi Folks,

The system expansion is moving along slowly. I'm now the proud owner of 8 JBL srx718 subs which will give me a lot of flexibility and cover my needs well. The tops are still a quandry.

As was posted elsewhere recently, Community SLS960s are near impossible to find on the used market and are actually too heavy as the flexibility I'm trying to achieve requires they be pole mountable. Why hasn't Community updated this cabinet with Neo drivers yet?

The current favorite is the fulcrum FA22ac which stretches the budget and has limited rigging and arraying potential, but has the output and sound quality. If I could ever listen to the EAW KF364NT they may be a good alternative, but are scarce, expensive and possibly too small. Interestingly, my favorite speaker manufacturer, TW Audio, is establishing a US presence and should have products available next year sometime.

On a related note, I'm also looking for a trailer but have been spoiled by the quality of German trailers and am disappointed at the lack of quality of most of the local offerings. I thought seriously about bringing a Humbauer trailer with me when I moved here and am now regretting the decision not to.

Ciao

Check out Car Mate trailers. Made in Leeper, Pa. Better quality than average. I replaced my Haulmark trailer with the Car Mate and it was a definite step up.

Because most of the SLS series are used in fixed installations, where weight is not typically a prime criteria and the market will not support the price of neo magnets.
