Thanks Brian. I guess I was thinking a single stereo feed for FOH, not for musos to do headphone mixes from stage. The OSC Remote Protocol 1.01 has a solo section for all commands and parameters about the solo channel. I'd think that would limit the traffic enough to fit a stereo feed of the phones jack. I guess we can hope.

IMHO it is more a question of latency which avoid streaming the monitor cue to the ipad. Wireless networks have variing latency which can be that large that realtime streaming is not possible.

Then you are assuming it wrong. Splashtop works great on the ipad!

So if you're saying you have an iPad that is controling your PC then I'm curious as to what I'm doing wrong. When I downloaded Splashtop to the iPhone it wouldn't even let me log into the Splashtop account I was using with my PC. It just kept telling me it was an invalid account. But yet I could go over to the Android tablet and login and control the PC just fine. What am I missing?

Well that depends on who you talk to, though yes the number are likely to be smaller. Also Firewire is a beast to get working with low latency in Linux. No Kernel support. =/

Two things: 1) I can't imagine the Android app taking that long. Yeah they'll have to do some code in Java, but they already have their protocols and GUI drawn up, it's just a matter writing Java for all the functions. I would think they should be able to bang it out in a few months.
2) If you can't wait that long why not just get a used iPad? I'm sure people were dropping their iPad2s like it was hot, plus there's a new retina out soon if not already. Even an First gen iPad. You're not doing any serious processing, just controls so there shouldn't be any difference. under $200 may be a good investment. Plus when the Android app does come out, you have an extra tablet for the drummer, so he can adjust his monitor mix. =)

Mediastreaming is completeley different from the use case of low latency realtime audio transfer. And even if Apple try to pretend that they are the best technicians in all possible univeres, on this earth in our reality they have to use standard WiFi for streaming with the Airport device.

I can't tell what you're doing wrong (don't have any android either). However I haven't used the account feature yet as I'm using the local network feature instead...

The "Mixing Station" App found in the Android App Store is still only a Alpha version not actually working against your X32.

Thanks Joe. That is great news.

I am personally sickened to have to have purchased an iPad Mini for $320.00. I think the new Nexus 7 at $230.00 is a much better deal, and will likely be accompanied by other low cost options with the Android OS on them.

Somehow, a $150 - 200 mistake doesn't seem as painful as a $320.00 one does ;)
