X32 Discussion

re: X32 Discussion

I am ok with the no automation but was curious and do you link two channels together?

Any news on a more in depth manual. I will need to understand a lot more before I can get one of these for my church. Will there also be a call in number for technical questions if we have issues with hook up or work flow questions?

I hear the whole thing is plastic and weighs 10lbs...

Oh, look a useful comment!

It weighs 44 pounds.

I doubt that it's entirely plastic, since it's hard to make XLR connectors without any metal, and the pins look kinda shiny in the picture. But if you could invent some sort of conductive plastic I bet you'd make a lot of money!

re: X32 Discussion

I recived my desk last saterday and i must say Behringer made something decend this time :)~:)~
i used it right away saterday night whit one of the local bands and i must say it not sounds bad
but there are a few things i miss on the board like saving an entire show inclusiv channel strips or the usb player funtions cant be asinged to
userdefind section and the channel linking is now odd to even it wud be great if u just could select a channel and it wud link auto whit the next channel and it dosent mind if its even or odd thats maby some points were the devteam can make some changes in the next firm updates

btw for the prize u pay for it its a great board 8)~~

I picked it up & it has enough weight to aleave any fears! It feels substantial enough although can be carried by one person, just not yer grandmother!! It was the 1st thing I did and made me feel better right away, maybe there's a couple of bricks inside, I dunno!! NOT 10 or 20 or 30lbs mate, definitely closer to 45 or 50!! :)~:)~

re: X32 Discussion

Dont fear the whole board is made of metal only the 2 side caps are plastic but its verry decend faders and buttons feel verry good to not like the old Behringer stuff :D~:-D~

Hello to All

UPS did speed up and the console is now laying on top of my Studer 980 - bubblewrap cushion between to protect knobs, of course - I am taking it to three days / 12 bands gig tomorrow.

I have three TC-Helicon active minispeakers - L+R+ one Wedge - not too offensive in living room.

Basic setup was a breeze - I´m only having four monitorgroups on subs 1-4 and L+R Thinking to use only 11miclines plus discomixer assigned via RCA-connections into ch15+16 - so no layerjumping on first night.

Visually very clean and informative - everything is easy to find quickly.

Mechanically very sturdy ( concidering its only 10lbs of pure plastic.....) - all faders and encoders move nicely with feel and switches are firm.

Listening my own voice with Sennheiser headphodes and MBHO dynamic mic sounds familiar - I´ve heard that sound before...... ;-))
Tomorrow I get to hear other voices and mixed channels summing behaviour... But nothing that bugs now.

Reverbs seem very nice and interesting - possibility to set parameters like reverb time and tap tempo on "personal" encoders and switches is plain fantastic - no matter, where I am tweaking, my right hand allways has those knobs ready and waiting.

Only problem so far is, that I can not make connection with my iPad via Airport Extreme ( one of those older round UFO routers ) so there will be no remote so far.
Have to get some computerguy to pop over and set it up - oh well - as long as there are only faders ad mutes, but when other parameters come to remote - including effects parameters - THEN Iwant it to work.

Next week I shall receive two Powerplay P-16M personal monitors and will report of them later.

p.s. The X-32 came with nice dustcover.
p.s. 2 The Thon case from Thomann is exellent - four butterfly latches - six carrying handles.
Console fits snugly with spare space on connector side.
Very manageable alone, too.

Ah, this is great info! I wondered about the quality of the Thomann flight case and I also noticed the extra space from the picture. Thanks for this. :)~:)~

Hi, I dont know if video embedding works here, (looks like it does) but I thought I'd post our review of the X32 (part 2) in the hope it answers some questions for some people.

Hope this is okay.

re: X32 Discussion

As if the delay of the X32 time after time was not bad enough. Behringer touts the mixer as in stores now and has a link to 3 stores, 1 of them I am certain has not gotten a single board as I was first in line with a pre-order.

Thankfully, I sourced another console, but part of my pre-order was also 6 of the P16-M’s, 1 of the P16-D and 6 of the P16-MB. Sweetwater had been holding all of the P-16 items in anticipation of getting the X’32’s sometime around the announced date by Behringer of July 27 (they have now been informed that it will be mid-September before they get any X32’s).

As I got an X32 from Musicians Friend, I asked that Sweetwater send me all of the P16 gear. One of the reasons I like to deal with Sweetwater is I feel that they offer some additional services with the product and are not just a big warehouse doing distribution. They informed me that they had seen a few issues with the P16-M’s. They felt the need to check the P16-M’s and found ALL 6 to be defective.

I am now scrambling to now find another source for these. I am excited about this whole system and I do think it is a game changer. I do however thing that Behringer really dropped the ball with the delivery and the PR surrounding when these items would be available. I noticed on the Behringer forum that most questions about stock have been almost universally ignored.

Initial indicators seem to say that they have a real winner on their hands; it is a shame that they keep shooting themselves in the foot with the lack of information and in some cases misinformation. How hard is it to give accurate and timely information to your customers???

re: X32 Discussion

Doesn't matter if you preordered or not...their first priority is guitar center. I understand they are their main guy but atleast send some elsewhere. I'm not gonna buy it from guitar center botched with a sprinkle of lies lol :)

We had one in today, but the Pro1 received more face time. Did some music and vocal listening comparisons, and the X32 preamps definitely are Not Midas preamps.

For the price, we'll sell a few, but it certainly won't take over from GLD/Pro1/etc or better offerings. LS9, Roland, etc maybe; Presonus for sure.

re: X32 Discussion

Got my X32 today, and I must say it's quite spectacular. Specially for the cash. Unbelievable really.
BUT....

Is there no way to save anything to USB besides channel & routing presets, and recordings?
As in, how do I save my show? Is that possible? I must be overlooking something...can't believe that wouldn't be possible. How do you transfer between consoles if you have to.

NEVERMIND...found it, not very intuitive to be honest. SCENES - view - utility is what you need. Is that only way to get to that screen?
