X32 Discussion

FYI: firmware 1.12 update issue

Hello to all,

I tried to update my desk but no stick I used worked. Then I saw that the name of the file did not follow the same name pattern as the previous update file. After renaming the file to dcp_corefs_1.12.update the update was successful.

Re: xcontrol v1

A minute or two before now I thought that I have to find some time to develop a SAC like windows surface for the X32. If they wont do it another one must do it. I played around a little bit with .NET and it is working so far. The only thing i could not manage is to get the meters. So we will see;-)

If theres anything I can help with let me know , Im a .Net developer as well ;o) (http://soundforums.net/junior-varsity/4393-x32-discussion-214.html#post46243) Look here

Weird, mine extracted with that very name. Although mine is also datestamped 17/01/13 while the current version from the site has the "X32_Firmware_1.12.update" filename and a datestamp of 24/01/13.

Re: Producer vs Compact

There are some buttons missing, namely the Scenes and Mute Groups, and no electronic scribble strips. My theory is that the Producer is aimed towards the Video/TV studio market - the Rack mount means it would likely drop right into a production desk, the lack of scribble strips is indicative of the fact that channel labels probably wouldn't change often, and mute groups/scenes aren't something typically found in a video environment.

That's my thoughts.

(BTW, am I the only one missing Assign buttons 1-4 on the Producer?)

The Producer also has a smaller screen.

Anyone know what the difference is between V.09 beta and V1 ( except now available for mac and Linux) presume may have been set a V1 for Namm demos. If improved - e.g. resizing, view menu, pinch and zoom so it works well with a touch screen- would go well with the controller ( as seen in pics) especially where not feasible to take the "big2 x32 or for using as a monitor console- using a mouse is too fiddly!!!

The monitor and recorder buttons are now active.

The assign section is now enabled as well.

The font and color schema has been slightly revised.

solo is implemented.

Re: X32 Discussion

Anyone know if the files are the same? Can I load an X32 file into a C or Rack etc?

Hi Guys,

Yes the files are the same between all X32 units.
At the NAMM show when we setup our demo mix, we saved the show to a USB stick and walked from unit to unit loading the same preset to all units.

For the NAMM X32 setup we are using:
10 - X32
1 - X32 Compact
1 - X32 Producer
1 - X32 Rack
1 - X32 Core
10 - P16M

For the show all units are connected via AES50 sharing a multi-track session from our DAW into the first X32, then feed out to all other units via AES50.
It is great to see so many consoles sharing the same inputs, yet involving no analog cables.

Possible test units

Hey guys don't you think that Behringer should have given Christian some test units ?!?!?!?!?!

Andre

Hello

If Behringer did give Christian some test units and he has not told us about them , it goes only to show that he is a man that Behringer can trust. He has before told us as much as he has been allowed. I am convinced, that he often knew more, than he told us - and for good reason... I believe that makes good service for both Behringer and us. Surely he will get some stuff to tell us about in the future. Behringer makes decisions.

We have been so well informed with X32 since last spring, that we might come to conclusion, that it is our right to get same level of pre-production information of just about everything. But it is not so.

For Behringer guys reading this: How much will iX16 cost and when can we expect it to be available? Others probably wish to know same thing about all X32 products.
