Re: Release !

App bug found....... in the Effects section, you can pick your fx from the EFFECTS tab, but when you pick from PRESETS and say LOAD, it doesn't even when you answer Yes to the are you sure question. Hope this gets fixed.

Dear cavinreed,

I am not sure I correctly understand what you are saying. Please note, that presets are actually stored in the console's flash memory, not on the iPad.
  • When trying the app in demo mode, without being connected to any console, no store/load operation is available
  • When trying to load a preset into an FX slot which does not provide that effects type, e.g. Reverb in FX8, this won't work
  • Please verify if the iPad has a stable Wifi connection to the router the console is connected to

I am not aware there is any geenral issue with recalling presets, provided being properly connected to the console. Would you mind describing your problem more specifically?

Best,
Jan

Re: Plug insert ( to exteranl HW processor on main LR )

Hi John,

sorry for grabbing this quote.

I have a set-up with two s16's and would like to stap an external EQ across the main mix L & R - I am fine routing the main L and R out to the EQ ( using aux outs -) but the problem is the return insert on the Main LR Bus as there is only one insert point - so for example if the returns from the EQ is on aux ins 1 & 2 I can only insert one of the aux's in the Main LR signal path - what is the best method/options to get round this - do I need for example to route the Main LR for all channels via a subgroup and do the insert here?

Many thanks

Nick

Send the main to two matrices and insert there.

Dear Nick,
While Per's method is a great solution when you need to insert multiple plugins, such as an EQ (on main) and then a limiter (on matrix), it is not necessary for your case. Because the Main LR is a stereo bus, when assigning Aux 1 as an insert, Aux 2 will automatically also be assigned. Simply assign Aux 1 as the insert point on Main LR, and you should be able to use Aux 1 for the Left and Aux 2 for the Right as intended. This is similar to the behavior of using a stereo graphic EQ on the virtual FX rack.

Hi Nick,

Maybe I am missing your point. But if you simply wish to insert an analog EQ into the Main LR, this is what you might do:
1. on the Routing/aux out page switch the Aux(es) that you wish to use to INSERT mode, say Aux 1 and Aux 2 in this case
2. select the Main LR channel
3. on the Preamp/Config page select either "Aux1" or "Aux2" from the Insert dropdown list
4. on that same page switch the Insert on and determine if it should be locate pre- or post-

If you need to insert the analog EQ plus anything else, then Per's suggestion of routing the Main LR to a stereo Matrix would be useful.

Hope that helps.

Jan

Good morning John!
Apparently you are the early bird, while I get a bit moony in the German office heat. I had started the reply 2h ago before being distracted by a meeting... sorry.

Panning Linked Mixes with the iPad App [X32-Mix]

Okay, i had hoped this feature would be added to the 'complete' X32-Mix app that was just released, but i think i'm gonna be disappointed.

Does anyone know of any way to PAN input signals between two Mixes that are linked with the QMix app? Or does anyone know of a potential workaround? This is a pretty big deal to me as i'm planning on using some X32 racks as a IEM monitor system and i need to be able to do stereo panning on a stereo IEM Mix with either the X32-Mix app or the X32-Q iPhone app.

Thanks to all....

Dear Brian,

I am completely with you regarding the panning option for IEM, and I honestly take the blame for not having it fully specd out for XiQ or X32-Q in the first place. I was just too happy having successfully cracked my mind over the exact mechanics behind the MCA idea.

I can assure you that with the next opportunity for assigning development resources on X32-Q we will look into the panning implementation. You're definitely not alone in seeing the big potential of X32 with IEM applications.

For the time being you can however adjust the panorama at the console in a reasonable way, and use the iPad/iPhone apps for dynamically adjusting levels rather.

Best,
Jan

Re: android

Could someone at behringer please spare a bit of their time to assist a few of us who have been trying to get touchosc and dawosc (android apps) to work with the x32 we can get them to control the x32 but cant get anything back ( if this is even possible)
it would be much appreciated for us poor android users .
Thanks Dan

I guess thats a no then

John (& Jan),
Many thanks - hadn't actually tried it in anger - makes sense - just unsure from the graphics!

Re: Release !

@Jan, yes, the iPad was connected to the desk, very stable, everything else was working. The list of presets was shown, I picked one, said LOAD, confirmed the pop-up screen with Yes (can't remember exactly what it asked, but something about putting the effect in the current slot), but the slot program did not change. This was when I had, say Effect One, active, since I don't believe there is a home screen for effects on iPad.

While i am bummed that this isn't implemented yet, can i take this opportunity to say how great it is to get an answer on my question straight from the 'horse's mouth' and so quickly too. You guys have done a great job of responding to user's needs and just generally being available. Just knowing that this issue is on the list is enough for me for now.

Now hurry up and fix it! :)

Thanks again.

Re: Panning Linked Mixes with the iPad App [X32-Mix]

Sold-out (~200) preview for Les Mis tonight.

28 wireless mics into the X32 with my custom mute/DCA/FX automation from QLab via OSC, 4 channels of sound effects from QLab via Firewire, and my trusty old 01V as a stereo pre-mixer for the 8 band mics and DIs. Then stereo IEM to the conductor, bass-rolled-off vocal mixes to a couple of band monitors, six bus-outs to the video guy's Tascam DR680 (four of every fourth vocal channel, plus stereo clean band, for mix-in in post), stage band fold-back through the existing house self-powered Mackie speakers (flipped around), and LCR main to a borrowed set of Nexo PS15s and PS8s on the floor in the middle.

Loud as all hell, and the audience loved it. I was pretty happy too.

Re: X32 Compact Flight Case

Anyone have any leads on flight cases for the X32 Compact?

Yes Gator makes a flight case for the X32 i just got mine and its very nice cost 550 bucks but its worth it..

Here a pics of it..

Re: X32 Sync Link - Version 0.4 Beta

I'm continuing with my little project, but have come across issues trying to sync the fx parameters. Because of the nature of the possible 64 parameters available on each effect and also the different values these need
converting to depends on the type of parameter. Ie db or ms etc.
I did think of some conversion table to work out all the possible combinations but noticed that when an effect is changed say from a reverb to chorus it sends the parameter values before the effect type. I have no idea how to get around this. Any ideas anyone (if you understand what I'm on about!)

Hi Mark,

sucks eh ! If the value sent by OSC was the Same as what the console stored then this would be easy :razz:8)~~ but that's the way it is lol

I would say you need an individual routine for each fx type and you can then hard code the number and types of parameters.

I will have a look later but I'm surprised it sends the parameters first before the fx type.

if that is true then you could set up a 64 parameter wide array , store the values until you know the fx type, then process them.

Cheers Kev. Exactly what i will have to do and already sort of guessed all that! I thought it was odd though that the type went after the parameters. All I did was stick a msgbox into my code and change the fx and read the messages. Type always came back last. Wonder how that works with the x32-mix? Seems a bit backwards to me!
