Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

1. Is it possible to have more colour options on the scribble strips? Our installation might be weird, but we use colours to identify channels and groups that aren't in the list of choices (e.g. grey, brown, etc). If it's a hardware limitation, then we can live with the current colours, no problem.

Are you aware that V2 added reverse color options?

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Ah no! I had missed that, thanks.

Speaking of v2.x (apologies for offtopic), where is the best place to find out about the new features? The firmware change log mentions them (but not how to use them) and the manual on the Behringer website doesn't seem to have been updated...

We're currently trying to get our collective head around the new v2 scene/show management

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Ability to set up Pop groups that can be assigned to user assignable buttons for recall say!

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Also Pre Post bus per channel not as now per 2 channels
V3 requests,

1) remove input blocks of 8 (1:1 input to channel routing) or make input blocks programmable.
2) possibility to program a channel as stereo channel
3) aux remap input more flexibel in terms of routing possibillities. When possible 8 channels. USB player will not be used.
4) Effects of rack 5-8 the same as rack 1-4
5) possibility to link even with oneven channels i.e. 10 with 11

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

- Channel Jobs like on Yamaha consoles. Copy Move, Linking...
- custom Layers, maybe similar to A&H which only have custom layers.
- flexible rerouting of Aux ins
- extend the input layer to the right fader bank even on the big X32 to get 24 input fader
- new X64
- alternativly cascading function with full control of the second mixer from the first one.
- rerouting of the USB channels
- password protection. The 'two button lock' option should be removed. It is too dangerous that some funny guy with knowledge of this option locks the console in an unattendant moment. The only chance to unlock the console is to powercylce the console. Not funny during the job.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Here's one.

Please remove the link between the select button on the console and the channel being viewed in the RTA on a connected laptop in XEdit.

I have my laptop running the XEdit software and I like the fact that I can leave that on one view whilst jumping the desk menus, however in RTA mode, all I have to do is press Select on a channel to make a change to, say the compressor, and the RTA changes to view that channel. I don't want it doing that unless I choose to. I then have to go to my mouse and manually call up that channel from the drop down list in the RTA. Even more frustrating is the fact that the RTA view in XEdit doesn't change when you select a channel to make other changes when you click on its name with the mouse.
One or the other, or better still, give us the option to link it to button selects made on the console or not.

Karl.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

One limitation to making it flexible is that RTA is only generated for one channel, and expanding on that would take extra processing. To make one instance of XEdit govern which channel RTA should be generated for, one would have to make provisions for making that instance the master, etc. etc.
However, (and I might be slightly off the mark here as I don't use RTA because I don't really see much value in it at least for my set-up), if you go into the RTA tab, you can set the RTA to a fixed channel, preventing it from changing when you select a different channel on the console.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

I'm surprised no one wants an actual pre-low cut tap for monitors, I realize there is a work around for this, but it involves using one of the bands of EQ to accomplish.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Hello, A custom fader option would be nice, especially for the output section where each fader would corespond to a specific analouge out. For example, my output routing is
1 Left - 2 Right - 3 Center(mono) - 4 Sub(mix 4) - 5 L Rear(mix 5) - 6 R Rear(mix 6) - 7 Delay 1(matrix 1) - 8 Delay 2(matrix 2)
9 Rec A (mix 1) - 10 Rec B(mix 2) - 11 Rec C(mix 3) - 12 Anchor(matrix3) - 13 foldback(mix 7) - 14(matrix4) - 15(matrix5) - 16(matrix 6)
a custom fader option would save a lot of time and paging around when operating a sound system. thank you

Patching virtual outputs to physical XLRs can be completely random. I also don't see how 2 layers of output faders (in order, no less) is significantly slower than switching to the correct custom layer.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

I am all in on the Aux in remap to any AES50 block.
Also a real I/O matrix rather than blocks of 8.

I'd like to see the 3rd level, Aux and Effects, be able to be used as inputs from another S16 mic pres giving 40 to 48 inputs.

Crossover filters on the center mono out fader.

A USB control of any knob like a Griffin PowerMate to control the selected element in X32 Edit, select and spin.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

Gains on faders and or selectable gains or faders would be nice at "Meter Screen"

I opted to get 2 X32 Racks to use as "head units" for my X32 console unless there is something I am not seeing, It appears the gains can only be controlled from the local unit where the mic preamps reside. I would like the ability to control them from the FOH location (I think you can do this with the S16).

One other thing that might be nice is some provision for use effects processors from connected X32s to achieve more effects (than the 8 we are currently limited to).

The X32 Rack was not much more $$$ than the S16 and opened up a lot of additional configurations for systems and setup as well as serving as backup mixers in the event of a failure.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

I have version 2 firmware on all X32s

I could not find where the setting is for remote preamp control.

Re: Behringer X32 Firmware v3.0 Feature Requests

I would like to see the channel spill feature on the full size x32 console. I work with one in a church setting, and the band channels occupy the first layer and about 3 of the second layer. It would be nice to be able to channel spill if I or the other volunteers would find it easier. The ability to use the mini meters on each channel to show gain reduction would also be cool. I love this console and the existing features so far!

edit: added the ability to assign the assignable buttons to quick scene save and recall.
