I want to get spoiled

Howdy

I just tried first time to bring some music with USB-stick - while same time trying out iPad remote with new software.

Everything works well - BUT - the cassette recorder in iPad has much better tape transport - it runs smoothly while the transport in X32 seems to jitter... 8)~8-)~

It would be plain fantastic, if we could have a choice of different tape players - I want to have Studer A80

Also the amount of tape seems to stay same - we old farts do know, that the size of spools vary when playing. Program could read amount of music on USB-stick and adjust the tape reels accordingly.....

Seriously - I am well aware, that Behringer has more important stuff to do than this, but this fantastic X32 has given us all SO MUCH for nice price and we all have been moaning more and more features.... So why not a realistic studio tape recorder - Studer, MCI, Ampex, Telefunken etc

Thanks Behringer and this community

Re: I want to get spoiled

Someone asked recently, what to improve and Timo came up with a little bit fun stuff, but on a more serious note.

I am not completely happy, how the the Dual Mono Effects are handled.

Obviously these will be used as inserts, be it GEQs on buses or Wave Designer/ DeEsser/ promised MultiBand comps on channels.
At moment I can have the FX page on a user defined button, but always need to look at the top of the page where Dual Mono FX A or B is inserted.

So I came up with the following idea:

Would it be possible to have a command assignable to a user defined button, which brings the inserted FX of the selected channel/bus on the screen?
Of course this would require, that Dual Mono FX e.g. DeEsser, which are now on one layer, are split over two layers.

So there are two questions:
to the X32 users: Would you like this feature
to Behringer: is it possible at all to implement this, if other users like this

And another feature suggestion:
Copy GEQ A to GEQ B

Have fun

I would love both of these.... you should be able to assign a UDK to a screen view (whatever that view is) - specifically graph a, or graph B

and yes copy graph would be a big benefit.

Yup! I mentioned this in my very first post, sometime long, long ago. Because I access my EQ's from the UDK's, my 4 EQ's need to use 4 FX slots. If we were able to access specifically A or B, then I would only use 2 FX slots, like I should be.

Firmware update problem.

To all of the X32 users, I am having trouble with the firmware update.( v1.11 from v1.09) I have tried rebooting by changing the clock speed and no luck. I have downloaded it a couple of times and still no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks.

old scenes

So I have a show tomorrow with a band I have a scene saved with . They expect me to be able to pull it up and start . Since my update I cannot load old scenes . Anyone have a fix ?

FX racks 7 & 8

No big deal and maybe documented - but wonder why FX7 and FX8 do not have all effects at their bid and call? - from memory I think it is the guitar AMP emulation and the mood filter - Nick

The quick fix is to load the older firmware and read back the old saved scenes.

Then upgrade to the latest firmware version and load each scene from your backup and re-save.

It is important to do 'initialize console' between every load to make sure that the mixer is in a known state before the load.

According to the B-boys this is because fx requiring extensive power is only listed in the top racks.

The architecture allows more processing power allocated for fx1 than fx8.

How do you reload the old firmware, is that possible?

I don't know if what I'm about to describe actually works with the newest firmware, but I don't see why not, and it don't involve making firmware downgrades to the console.

If the show that contains the scenes isn't already backed up to USB-stick, load the show and export it.
Import the show to XControl, load and save all scenes, and export the show to file (on the USB-stick)
Load the newly exported show on the X32, and all scenes should now be working.

X32 as audio interface

Hi,

I'm trying to use X32 as audio interface but I'm having troubles. If I'm using monitoring thru Reaper I'm getting cracks and other weird noises time-to-time. Those artifacts are also recorded to disk. Latency setting doesn't seem to affect this issue. I've tried latency settings up to 512 samples and about same thing. I've tried with 2 computers: Both Mac's. Other is mid 2009 and other is brand new with SSD disk. Both at OSX 10.8

Earlier I had RME UFX and never had any kind of issue with cracks and stuff.

Any ideas? I noticed at if play something from Spotify thru USB I'll get same kind of cracks also from there also. Any others experiencing this?

Re: X32 as audio interface

Well, in generally there's no reason to acclaim not to use USB in Mac. Usually it works just fine and actually it's faster than Firewire. Core Audio just rocks. I've got 3 audio interfaces working with USB: Lexicon Omega, Roland(Edirol) UA-25EX and RME UFX - none of those have had (or has) this kind of problems. This X32 is now the first one with problems with USB. Example RME UFX is 60 channel interface (30 in / 30 out) with USB and it's rock solid.

So for Christian Boche I would say: weird statement. I don't really understand it.

Of course there's always possibility that X32 Audio interface design is bad - but it would be weird that this kind of problems would occur with ONE channel. Or my X_UF card is faulty.
