X32 Discussion

Re: X32 Discussion

Behringer is certainly riding on some momentum at NAMM Thursday...

Church Production Magazine News

Yes they seem too

Just discovered that Sonic State re-released their newsflash about Behringer´s new speaker lineup.

WNAMM13: BEHRINGER Launches iQ Series Networked Loudspeakers, 2,500 Watts of iNuke DSP Power on tap -Sonicstate.com

I am very curious how they have managed to incorporate the speaker engineering from Turbosound and processing engineering from Klark/Midas. Seems that they will use drivers from Turbosound, at least in the subs.

I am about to upgrade my club gig speakers. Almost ready to pull for Yamaha DSR´s, but i should i wait and see if Behringer can compete with the the Yamaha/QSC/JBL SRX lineup?

Re: X32 Discussion

Per is indeed correct with this issue. When performing a console backup I advise making sure none of the Safes are selected, as they'd probably still be selected when ready to recall the Show/Scene. Thank you for the clarification.

Ok now we getting somewhere, thank you all very much, it's clear to me. A backup is allways a full backup. Safes apply only on the recall. I assume the safe states aren't changed by the recall?

Re: Voltage

One for the Behringer tech guys.

There has been mention of the desk resetting if it hits around 90v for 5ms or more... is that regardless of the input voltage, or does that only apply to the 110v supply, and on higher voltage supplies (say the 240v on mine) it is different?

There's only one model--there aren't different US and European power supplies--and it has an autoranging (100VAC-240VAC) power supply. So, yes, dipping down to 90VAC is bad, no matter where you bought it.

I don't understand you question? Are you asking if param safe and chan safe is altered by recall?

The show file contains the param safe and chan safe data and the scene safe data for the individual scenes, and all the safes will be altered when importing a show.

I have varying degree of success saving param safe and chan safe with the show file, but a show file that has been initialized will retain the settings and restore them on recall.

A show file in it's default state will wipe param safe and chan safe when it is imported back in because the param safe and chan safe haven't been saved. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL ....

Re: X32 Discussion

The Behringer mainpage just changed ... with all of the new stuff now officially listed

Well, the X32 Rack and Core will certainly provide an incentive for Behringer to continue to develop the remote interface for the X32. Maybe the U-Phoria audio interfaces are based on the same codebase, as well, which could bode well for their stability.

I'm thinking that the SAC guys will be fairly excited about the new ADA8200. We've known that it was coming, but this brings it a little bit closer.

This line on the iX16 product page indicates that the Behringer programmers will keep focussing on PC & Mac remote control. It seems that any Android apps will have to be developed by 3rd parties.
"Our public OSC protocol will even allow developers to work on their own apps for Android devices."

Yes, an Android app will be cool, but I think that ultimately the more significant statement is that the protocol will be public. I think I've heard before that it will be, but I haven't seen an API published. Plenty of people in audio have experience in coding, and I think we'll see very useful code development come out of the user community.

Re: X32 Discussion

The osc documentation was released a while ago, it's in the download section for the x32 on the behringer site. I have personally used it to write several applications including a scene manager that will be getting released soon.

Kev

Ps it's not an API if that's what you are looking for its a protocol.

Re: X32 Discussion

Dang, I can't get the iX16 page to load yet... everything looks GREAT! Very exciting! Looking forward to seeing those mute groups in XiControl more than ever now with the new units with minimal or without buttons or faders! If you Behringer guys just add a knee control on the gate, you'll have total awesomness! Thank you!
