X32 Discussion

Re: X32 Discussion

Hey Brian,

I was curious at how it sounded using the integrated cross-over?

They definitely did their job. It was sufficient for me to finish the gig, my boxes sound great flat so it wasn't a huge difference minus the fact that I didn't have the limiter or comp that I use in my processor

The X32 easily outperforms a dbx DriveRack PA+ or similar, but obviously can't compete with a Lake with proper factory settings. Going back a few thousand posts, there was a lot of discussion about using the desk for x-over/processor duty and those of us who believed in it was in minority and probably still are. The problem with using the desk for this duty is of course the risk of a scene change introducing new and catastrophic settings if great care is not taken.

Thanks Per ;)

You are correct. If a scene change was done without the proper safes .... ohhh boy!

Hi guys!

I made an easy android-(phone)-app for doin monitors. Here's the link: XMonitor - Android-App for Behringer X32
It's optimized for my Galaxy-SII phone but also works on a google Nexus-7.

If you like to try (or use) it, I would be happy for some comments!

Btw, owning X32 since august 2012. Love this machine. No issues so far!

Greetings from Austria

Andy

Awesome! We finally have a monitor app with pan controls on a stereo mix.

okay Behringer. Now it's your turn to bring this much needed feature to your iOS app, since I have lots iOS devices and no androids.

Nice, clean app Andy. Hope it serves you, and others, well....

Compact recording card

Hey guys, a while back I mentioned seeing a compact with a recording interface called "XUSB". Someone had replied and mentioned that this was a new card that would be replacing the XUF on some models. I wanted clarification, perhaps right from one of the Behringer guys, about what the deal is?

I ask because I plan on selling my X32 and picking up a compact as I rarely need more then 16 channels and would welcome a smaller board to carry around. The shop I work at has received a few in stock, and they seem to sport the XUF card with Firewire. I'm torn about waiting to pickup a compact of they indeed "switch" at somepoint and no longer have FiWi. What's more complicated is when and if they release a Thunderbolt card, which would make it a non-issue. I simply don't want to be stuck with recording USB. I know it works, but to me seems like taking a step back from FiWi.

So 2 questions: When will compacts no longer have FiWi, and when is a Thunderbolt card being released?

Also, what's the easiest way for me to post a song I mixed off an X32 on this board? Soundcloud? I've never done it before. I assume I can't just insert it like an image. Thanks!

Re: X32 Discussion

Looks good, but only android 4.0 and newer.

My samsung S advance is running 2.3.6.

I got Samsung Galaxy S (1) with Android 4.2 and looks good (I don't have access to X32, so I can't check connection).
The only thing that is annoying is possibility to scroll whole screen (left-right) while changing fader volume. It's really hard to control volume when you use phone with only one hand.

Great work. I had some difficulties to connect via a nexus 7 but now it works. Am I allowed to give you some suggestions? Hope so;-)
The 'light' of the mutebutton can be a little greater.
the fader position changes faster than the move of the finger. This can be caused by the greater screen of the device, but anyway....
I had some 'ruckeln' of the fader if I move them too fast.

but never the less a real great work. Chapeau!

I was told yesterday that they will have 3 new cards out my Jan 1st. Dante, Madi, and Light Pipe all 32 x 32. NO Thunderbolt.

Re: X32 Discussion

Hi Mateusz,

yes, that's right. I had to consider if I wanted less or smaller faders and leave extra space for navigation (or have at least more "clicks"), or have as much channels as possible for direct access. I decided to implement the latter.
As I am the singer and therefore have both hands free, this works good for me.

Hello Klaus!

Thanks for your suggestions! I already deployed a new version with improved fader movement (probably still stuttering, but more accurate I hope), and a new style for the mute button.

Hope this helps!

Re: X32 Discussion

Was watching the Dr Who Prom last night on TV... noticed a familer looking console at one point, than later on a closer view.

The BBC Radiophonics Workshop use an X32 :) if its good enough for them, it certainly is for me :)

Re: X32 Discussion

Do you want your wife to be able to destroy the perfect mix you dialed?
To be earnest: never heard of a ZOPO-device!

I think it can be more useful to her than me!!!8)~~

And this is a ZOPO device Buy Zopo Mobile Phone at Authorized Official Site

I think is one of the best quality-price in commerce!!

One suggest, if it's possible hide the channels unused on the mixer it would be more comfortable to use on stage:eek:~:-o~
And thaks again :p:p:p:p
