Re: Noise in Monitor Outs

This has been officially recognized by Behringer. I called Chase McKnight in the Las Vegas service center and confirmed they are performing repairs on units that are affected by the monitor noise. Not all units are affected but if you do have an issue contact your local Behringer support.

Greg

I have a low level noise in the headphones, a continuous tone at approx 950 Hz. However it is at such a low level that, as long as I am using proper gain structure at my inputs, I don't consider it as something that needs to be fixed. I do not hear the 6khz tone that a lot of people have mentioned.

Re: Noise in Monitor Outs

Hi Mick,

Thanks for the info - I did contact my local service center when I purchased the desk and they swapped it twice - Once for one that was the same, and again for one that's better but it's still a problem. Please understand they treated me very well and bent over backwards to make me happy. In the end however - at that time - there wasn't a fix for the issue that was known here in Australia.
My understanding is that service in Australia is now conducted by someone else - Can anybody confirm who I should be emailing in the first instance?

Thanks
Pauly

Big announcement at Frankfurt PL&S show?

So according to Uli, big news is supposed to happen when PL&S opens on the 10th.

"While we have hosted multiple webinars and published videos about the integration of DAW's such as Reaper, Protools etc. with the X32, we have incredible news coming for you.
Please check in a few days when the Frankfurt PL&S show opens. You will be very pleased."

It's 6:30 Frankfort time. Any news?

OK, great if the software is any good and it means an effort will be made from both Behringer and Traction to make it a good integration.
Saving $30 on the software purchase doesn't really make any difference to me, and hopefully for Behringer sales the people likely to buy in the next three weeks will not hold out to save the 30 bucks.
Sorry Uli and all, so far my feeling is similar to a ten-year-old waiting impatiently for x-mas only to unwrap pairs of socks. Let's hope the socks are good ones ;)~;-)~

One funny thing is that Tracktion was previously owned by mackie until very recently :))

Re: Big announcement at Frankfurt PL&S show?

Really? Traktion software? Whoop-dee-doo. I use Pro Tools. Where's the BCF4000 with 16 touch sensitive faders and scribble strips for DAW control? That would make me require a change of undergarments.

Re: Big announcement at Frankfurt PL&S show?

Did try tracktion once can't recall whether demo or free download - didn't much like the UI at the time! Depends on enhancements for x32 -though seems to be bundled with a lot of behringer stuff!!!!
For existing x32 users (who have showed faith in behringer) I think there should be a free download!

Re: Big announcement at Frankfurt PL&S show?

Dear all,

there are some angles you might not be aware of.

While I understand that this DAW didn't see much improvement over the past years, the version 4 got upgraded quite a bit by the original developers who are now back on board. We have been working with the team over the past months and I have to say that these are great people we have much respect for.

In fact our X32 development engineers are now closely working with the Tracktion team in order to further improve its DAW functionality and to integrate it seamlessly with our products. Allow the Tracktion team to surprise you with some pretty amazing features that are in the pipeline.

While Tracktion might not be your preferred DAW, we believe the current version is a pretty useful tool especially since it is now working on almost all standard platforms.

We will certainly continue to support all other DAW's and are working with these development teams as well to make sure the X32 family perfectly integrates with the DAW of your choice.

And finally, we're offering Tracktion for free with a large range of our products. This I believe is a good thing.

Warm regards

Uli

Re: Big announcement at Frankfurt PL&S show?

Well, fact is: Everyone who is in the recording business for a longer time, has choosen his favored audio sequenzer already..may it Cubase, Logic, Reaper or what ever.
For all the beginners the free Tracktion offer is a nice add on to the Behringer hardware, especially when the functionality of Tracktion and the Behringer gear is taken care of from both parties.

BTW: Just payed the Tracktion website a visit. It says:

  • 64-bit Performance
  • OSX 10.8 Support
  • Win 7 & 8 Support
  • AU Support
  • WASAPI Support
  • WMA Support

Not bad at all for a "freebee".

Than I watched one of the tutorial videos "Editing Audio" -->

Tracktion Software - Editing Audio - YouTube!

I must say, the possebilities are impressive for a DAW at this price point.

At the end I looked into the Tracktion forum, in my eyes, a forum says a lot of how customers are treated and how open minded the developers are to feature requests.
The forum made a good impression to me.

Personally I made the switch from Cubase to Studio One (among other things) because of, how Steinberg (respectively some of their forums moderators) treated customers in their own forum.
People got banned for nothing, or just for making feature requests or respectfully complaining about a "Solo" bug that appeard in Cubase4 and was not fixed until Cubase6.

Anyway, I'm curious how things will evolve.
