Re: ELX Line Array

Possibility to have Xusb card outputs and inputs as channel-insert send and return in order to use a pc like external 32 channel dsp

Tears of joy would running down my cheeks, if this would be possible! ;-)
But it seems that the X32 DSP audio structure does not allows the integration of a "VST-Insert-point" kind of thing...:-(

Re: ELX Line Array

I thought that it can already be done, there is even a video on using it with waves multirack Getting To Know The X32: How To Use Waves Multirack - YouTube

I'm aware of this. The difference is in the general signal flow. By now you grab the micpre signals of channel 1-32 send it to Multirack, LiveProfessor or any other VST host and route them back with the "card in". This works but is a bit inconvenient in my eyes. You have to control your micpre gain with the "preamp tab" under "settings". What Daniele and myself are thinking of are VST-Inserts, that you can dail in in any Channel, subgroup or Mains channel. Just as you would do by inserting one of the build in FX engines. (am I correct Daniele?)
THIS would be totaly awesome and puts the X32 in the same ballpark like other top notch consoles, at least VST-FX wise. But like I understand the DSP structure of the X32, this kind of routing is sadly not possible:-(

Re: ELX Line Array

Hi Christian,
i dont only think about the possibility of using vst plugins within the mixer, but i think it would be much easier just to add the Xcard imputs and outputs in the channel insert routing so u can use your computer with daw as virtual effect rack!

Hehe..that's exactly what I tried to say. Seems I was a bit ambiguous about it.
Anyway: Yes, that would be great in deed.

X16 cancelled ???

Hello

A friend of mine just called me and notified, that all info about X16 has disappeared.

Does this mean that project has been cancelled for good or only for a moment.

Please give a hint - if it has been cancelled for good, he ( and kazillion others ??? ) can start looking towards X32 Rack or as Monty Python puts it : " And now - something completely different ..."

I posted this to both "X16 preview" and "Uli Behringer of The Music Group Q&A"

I think they only just had a chance to take it all off their website. Didn't they have all the websites down recently. I am sure they will let us soon know what the sketch is.

Re: X16 cancelled ???

Looks like Uli is not keen to talk about the X16 anymore. :(~:-(~

We have major trade shows coming over the next 3 months. Any of them would be logical to reintroduce the product. I don't think Behringer has any intention of abandoning this market segment; whether or not it is filled by an "X16" or "Z16" remains to be seen.

Re: Uli Behringer of The Music Group Q&A

Looks like Uli has lost Interest? Maybe the questions are not so good for marketing? Please let us know uli

Or maybe he's busy running a large company. There are major trade shows coming up in next few months.

His access here is pretty unusual, even ignoring the canned marketing messages. Which are kind if like having to watch commercials to get free TV.

Re: ELX Line Array

First of all I have some respect for the PR beating Uli has taken on here and this is the busiest time of the year for some manufacturers so I'm not expecting a reply from him however I noticed the ELX line array thing is not on their website anymore. Is it not happening now? I never really saw specs for it.

Re: ELX Line Array

Not sure what you guys are complaining about. Questions about ix16 & nu12000 have been answererd. maybe just ask a good question and do it friendly so you get a good and friendly answer.

Re: ELX Line Array

Hello Everyone,
I subscribed to this forum in order to ask a few questions to Uli:
1. Is it going to be a Android app for the X32? If not, will Behringer ever consider to support someone who already started on the app( see the play store for Mixing station). The guy is helping you to sell boards to Android users AND he figured out a lockout feature that would be great to have in the Ipad app( setting a password for locking would be a plus).
2. Uli told us in a old post here that there would be a pitch correction feature. Is it going to be out some time soon?

Thanks for the attention. And Uli, keep up the good work. Just wish your products could get faster and with better prices in Brazil( after the X32 was launched, the price was around R$ 20k ,about 8400 dollars.)

This Thread will answer your question http://soundforums.net/junior-varsity/3322-behringer-line-array-9.html

#164 And this is a quote from it
"Dear all,

Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Andrew Pardoe and I am a Senior Manager, Acoustics at TURBOSOUND. I have 18 years of engineering experience and have worked at several world renown audio brands including TURBOSOUND several years back. I have recently re-joined the company to design transducers as well as complete speaker designs. I was involved in the Milan speakers we just launched and in the re-design of the ELX line array which will be re-introduced under the TURBOSOUND brand."

So it does appear the Behringer will no longer market the ELX, Turbo will.

Cheers

Re: ELX Line Array

I know namm is over but here is another product request, I'm hoping for something like aviom provides with outputs from the brain units from their personal monitor system. I have done several budget installs lately that the console had to be chosen based on what personal monitoring system the end user already had, not the best tool for them. Just a simple ultranet in to 16outs would be great.
