Re: Installing X32 USB ASIO Driver
I work for an "analog Luddite." He's the boss and that's why we still own a couple of large analog mixers.... Don't feel bad, Bill. Look at digital mixers as a way to make all the old analog mistakes in greater quantity and much more confusing to trouble shoot.
My take on "support" via the internet goes back to UseNet. Anyone who doesn't know what that is needs to use Wikipedia... okay, I'll give you a hint - before there was a World Wide Web with all sorts of fancy forum software, UseNet was a threaded, topic-specific discussion board system. VERY specific to the point that off-topic posters were flamed in ways that led to Nomex garments and asbestos undies... and before you posted your question(s) you'd damn well have better searched that "newsgroup" for your problem or issue. If the question had already been answered you'd need the aforementioned attire. Have come of age in that environment I routinely search many avenues before posting questions; that's why you don't see me posting many questions... it's not because I'm some kind of genius (far from it) but because I've found the information needed to answer my questions or at least point me in the right direction to find those answers. Perhaps I'm projecting my own desires or needs onto others, but frankly if someone isn't willing to make a similar effort to research and learn, why should I give them answers? It's kind of like expecting dad to do your homework, IMNSHO. Particularly frustrating to me are folks that ask questions that have already been addressed multiple times in the same thread or on the same forum. That's why I previously said "this is not a living wiki that awaits questions and dispenses answers."
Have fun, good luck.

ps. start a new thread if you have questions about digital mixers in general or have questions about other makes/models. There is no shortage of opinions...
As I have just recently considered getting a new mixer, I have spent the last 2 weeks researching digital mixers. Thanks to my Luddite ways, I am now trying to make up for lost time and catch up to the 21st century. Maybe it is just my age, but I'm finding learning about digital boards is more challenging than I thought it would be. Especially when it comes to routing and all the cool possibilities that are now open.
In Tim's reply to your post, I feel he has a valid point. Tim, if I hear what you are saying, this is a community of people and because of that, there are lots of varying opinions and expectations everybody has about this forum. That is what makes the world go 'round. Perhaps we all have to ignore certain posts and admit that just about any post may have the potential to irk somebody who may post a reply about their level of "ikedness", but in the end hopefully somebody will respond with an answer, and bless that person willing to help out and take the time to reply!~:-D~
Best regards,
Bill
