Re: XiControl / XiQ

I currently use XControl on my tablet. I do not own an iPad right now, but am curious if it is possible to dowload the XiControl on my PC to preview it? I would be interested in checking out the iPad software to see if I might prefer to switch over to iPad wireless control, instead of the tablet. Would this work, and would I be able to see all the functions of it on my PC? Thanks!

Re: Internal crossover function in new update

My longer view on this general digital evolution is that dedicated DSP which is dropping in cost, could be more effectively deployed inside powered speakers where the I/O burden is not an issue and the crossover can be tuned by the "speaker" design engineers, not entry level mixer customers.
JR
It has already happened, in JBL PRX, latest Eon etc, QSC K boxes and many more. A little DSP + associated AD/DA is being chucked in where you used to find Rs,Cs and opamps doing the signal processing.
BIG ups to Behringer for extending the processing to crossover functions in the X32 - anything that eliminates additional boxes and leads is an out and out winner in my book.

Re: Internal crossover function in new update

Just took delivery of 2 S16 boxes. Taking them out on a gig tonight. I'm not sure if I'm going to like this digital snake think. Little tiny cable can get smashed easier, putting all my input channels and drive in 1 Cat5 connector and cable, chance for glitch's, powering up another rack on stage, controls on stage that can cause problems if bumped. I guess I'll find out tonight if I like it or not.

Haven't you heard. It's how you use it, not the size.... Lol
Lock the stage boxes with the desk....
If you don't like them, ship them to me... I asked for them for Christmas

Where did you buy them? I've been waiting for Sweetwater to get mine in. I have two S16s that I've been using for a couple of weeks and have to give them up soon. It's going to be hard to go back to an analog snake. You're gonna love these things!

Curious if you bought this from a USA seller, and who has them in stock? Thanks

No idea if you can run XIControl on a PC, but I seriously doubt it. FWIW I run XControl on a tablet PC that sits with the mixer, I use it for naming channels, and setting EQ with the mouse. In addition to XIControl on my iPad 2, which is great for walking the room or setting monitor mixes from on stage.

And if Shane doesn't want them, I'll take them off your hands. I have 2 on order, but honestly I'm getting a little tired of waiting. I'd love to take the snakebox out of the truck, and throw it back in the warehouse where it belongs. After getting used to digital, it's hard to go back to analog. Just build your cables using high quality CAT6 stranded/shielded cable, and shielded RJ-45's. Either run it in a trough, or fly it. You'll be just fine. And trust me when I say you'll love not lugging those old analog multicores around any more! :-)

Re: Internal crossover function in new update

Long time lurker, first time posting :)~:-)~

I've been using an X-32 in a UK venue for a couple of months now and while overall it's been brilliant I had my first crash the other day.

Was mixing a band (nothing too complicated, around 18 inputs iirc), whilst adjusting the threshold on a compressor the board "froze". Moving any control (fader, knob or button) did nothing. Audio was still being passed during this time. Then, after about 30 seconds of this the board rebooted itself at which point audio was (obviously!) lost.

It seems to have been a one off as several gigs later (including an update to the latest firmware) I've had no more problems.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Are you using a UPS with it ?

Re: XiControl / XiQ

Rob,

Yes, you can download the X Control PC and use it without being connected to the X 32. In my production of webinars and other training documents, I use the XControl PC as a way to create screen shots on my PC. There is not a way to load the iPad version on a PC or a Mac.

There is a new version for all who are reading this. It was updated about 2 weeks ago. So, if you haven't download away.

Thanks for the response. I do currently use XControl on my tablet at live shows to mix wirelessly with my X32. I was just wondering if there was a way to 'preview' all the features of the iPad version on my PC. I wasn't thinking that it would actually work live on a PC tablet, but just wanted to see how the XiControl version looked and functioned in a sort of 'demo' mode, as can be done with XControl. I have seen a few youtube videos of the iPad software, but they only show a few screens in use.

Thanks again for your response. I continue to be very happy with my X32 system, and with the responsiveness of the Behringer team to all of the X32 users out there!

Well, if it were me, here's where I'd be...
1) I'm over 50, so birthdays are no big deal any more.
2) Been married for over 30 years, so, same thing as birthdays.
3) I've had my X32 and P16-m's for quite some time now. The S16's? I don't want to talk about it....
